so, maybe I will come! I've ask my Grandpa. He would fly with me to California, he doesn't speak English, maybe he knows Yes on No ;D So I have to be very nice to my Mum!!! She is the one who has to say 'yes, you are allowed to fly' We will see... [glow=red,2,300]Because there are four days of school I would miss, and that without a Jetlag or something...[/glow] Maybe, maybe not--- well I'm missing 3 weeks of work, one week of which is unpaid, as for the jetlag tell me about it, the same day i arrive home (630pm uk time) I,m supposed to be working nightshift starting at 10pm uk time, so it's gonna be a looooonnnnnnngggggg long day and night ;D ;D Anyone else going apart from those on Nici's list of attendees

12 days until Oklahoma, so 100 later until FF has a nice ring to it ;D Wow, just 12 days? I'd be all anxious, staring at the calendar, willing the days to go by faster! I hope you get to meet Mark. I've loved him since 240-Robert... when was that, since 1979. Wow. That's a long time. I tried on my costume for Fanfest, everything's too big!

Question for last year's fanfest goers, or anyone who knows about this year's. The dates are listed as the 13-16. Does anything actually happen on the 16th, or is it more just a day for goodbyes and "See you next year"?
I'm trying to figure out what day to fly back.

I fly out on the red-eye that night, because I keep hoping we'll get a surprise guest. I doubt it, but "delusional" is my middle name. ;D

What type of videos? Is that where they prescreen the episodes or the extra stuff like the bloopers?

The bloopers, the DPB-Harriet-tape and Shalom AFAIR. Escaped was only shown during the set visit.
Dunno about this year. Maybe the DVD-questions that were filmed but never made it onto the DVD-box.
Cheers, Mel

Not much really happens on the last day ... but ya never know, they might do something this year. A lot of folks did other stuff the last day. I went to the little gathering, ate the food ... but I didn't hang around because it was real hard to see and hear. I did come back and visit them every now and then though to see what they were doing. hehe 98 days to go!

The hotel backs up against the airport, and the Sunday afternoon stuff was out on the patio. Extreme glare from the late-September sun, even after they rolled the shade thingies down, and lots of airplane noise (go figure!). Sandwiches to eat, IIRC.

Good to know. Thanks.
Anything else done outdoors? I'm trying to figure out if I'll need sunscreen or not.

If you're planning on spending ANY time at all out in the sun while you're here, yes, definitely: Bring Sunscreen. You pasty-faces aren't used to California sun. Heck, I'm not either, since I've been in dispatch for so long! And I've spent nearly my entire life in this area.

What's the temperature liable to be at that time of year, will they be the same down the coast and inland eg im going to magic mountain in valencia and down as far as san diego and san ysidro(and maybe tijuana though haven'y decided about that yet) all starting from the 9th sept to the 30th sept.
Oh and I've already got the sunscreen and half my bag packed ;D .

Oh and I've already got the sunscreen and half my bag packed ;D . Lows to the mid 60s; highs to the mid 80s typically. We had an unusually hot summer last year. Most years it's pretty dry in September, as that's "Santa Ana" conditions most years. "Santa Ana Winds" take their name from the fact that they blow in off the desert through the Santa Ana River Canyon (coincides pretty much with the route of the 91 freeway from the "Inland Empire" into Orange County) into the LA Basin. Figure "hot, dry, dusty" in those circumstances. Generally, the farther south you go, the hotter it'll be. Right along the coast will tend to be a bit cooler than temps inland, but that doesn't mean it can't reach 100 at the beach! If it's 100 at the beach, it'll be 110 in downtown LA, and even hotter in inland valleys like the one Valencia's in. Keep that in mind when you're at Magic Mountain (over the freeway from the production facilities). I know it's noticably cooler at work, within about 6 miles from the beach, than it is at home, about 15 miles from the beach. But also, strangely, there've been times when I've left work at 11pm looking at clear skies and have driven home into fog! Don't bother bringing rain gear: average annual rainfall for the month of September is 0.3"--less than half an inch. HTH Darla, Your Trusty Native Guide (and who would also like to note that the above temperatures are listed in Fahrenheit; she doesn't do Celsius) ;D
