it's all already been said, so i'll just say this was a ROFLOL episode.
i liked how tony went from ragging mcgee to teaming up with mcgee to harass kate.
i agree about that all the sex talk was not necessary to the show. i don't think they were distasteful about it, but i just don't think it was necessary.
i was sure the "redneck" was innocent!!! i felt kinda sorry for the couple when gibbs left them when they went after the redneck. i mean, i understand how Gibbs felt. it was sort of deja vu for him - didn't his first wife mess around on him while he was on a tour of duty? but still where are these two now? she's pregnant, it's his kid - are they gonna be able to overcome what they've said to each other/about each other in the interrogation and try and do the right thing for the kid? i suppose we aren't supposed to think too deeply about that, but that was probably the only part of the show that i disliked. if she hadn't been pregnant i would've totally agreed with gibbs.

Loved this ep I hope that we see a lot more of the dog Tony. I'm a big dog lover and can see Gibbs ending up with her. He seems to be the only one that knows much about dogs. And the part of Ducky feeding his mother ground up food and in the next breath asking Jimmy over to eat with them. The grin after Palmer left the room. Priceless ;D This show is so much fun.

No, it wasn't graphic. Like jo said, though, it really wasn't necessary.

Count me in as another viewer with carpet burns from ROTFLOL I agree the sex talk was overdone, but I got the feeling we are being set up...

I swear, I'm going after FOX and Murdoch... you guys will provide me a decent alibi... RIGHT?? Sorry, I can't, 'cause I'll be right up there with you takin' 'em down! Can someone please explain to me what all those numbers mean? I've had a very tiring and stressful day, and do not feel like trying to decode them.

OMG! This has got to be the funniest show ep I've ever seen. Carpet burn is nothing. I'm getting a hernia from all the laughing. Priceless. Have to go watch it at least 3 more times. ;D Didnt' think the sex was overdone. It only shows that they're more than just coworkers, they're friends. Considering all the extra hours they put in, it's normal that they let steam off. And Kate is no victim, no way What about Gibbs making Tony clean up? A colleague of mine once spoke up and said the task she was asked to do "is not in the job description". 5 minutes later? It got written into the job description. I think Tony took it gracefully, all things considered.

Got my second viewing in early this week, so here comes the 5000 word essay, gang...
or something like that...
First off... I liked the twists in the plot. The only thing I didn't like was that it really wasn't fully explained why the drunk Runyon whacked our DB of the week. Was it really just for the music and running him off? I suppose, I mean, I used to live outside Chicago and I know the drivers there would shoot you if the didn't like the way you passed them... so anything's possible. But I still would have liked just a bit more explanation.
And Gibbs blowing up the trailer. Whoa. At least he got the dog out first, that was a kind thing. And I know the team was outgunned. But that was just a tad extreme.
"I'm not going back to jail!" Okay, you're right... I'll just blow your sorry ass up instead.
I mean, it's not like the guy was a terrorist or something. Yeah he was a murderer, and a scumbag... but, I don't know. It just seemed a little harsh.
As far as the characters go in this ep, though, I loved them all! They were fab this week!!!
Let's start with the man in charge, Gibbs. Was he to die for with his sneaking up on people this week? First Runyon, oh baby! Loved that!!! Vintage Gibbs! And then catching Tony later! So perfect! And I love that he's smiling more when he's catching people like that. Even if they don't see it, we do. And that's what counts! And I can't forget the move in the lab after he makes sure McGee can still work. He very carefully sidles around the poor guy. Priceless! Last but not least, the look at the end. It almost makes you wish the ep had gone on for two more minutes just to find out what would have happened when Tony found out what happened to his hat.
Who next... I'll do Ducky and Palmer. I liked the two of them this week. I think Ducky is having a grand time Palmer-baiting. And I'm getting a real kick out of watching it! Brian Dietzen plays it well against the incredibly talented David McCallum and while Palmer may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, he's playing straight-faced to some of the comic scenes very well. The one where he walks in on McGee and Ducky, never bats an eyelash (although he does check out the situation) and utters "I'll come back," in a perfectly serious tone comes to mind. He sets up Ducky's line perfectly, which had me and my daughter gasping for air we were laughing so hard.
Abby was fab in this ep!!! From the bet with McGee (fleecing, more like!) to her "Peace out!" to Gibbs - and didn't you just love that look! - she was on it this entire ep. And who didn't love the disclaimer parody before her screening of the video. We've all done it, right? Made fun of that warning? don't lie to me... I know you have! And then at the end... Sure men and women can be friends. Oh they'll have sex! Haven't you ever slept with a friend? What was Kate thinking? She should have known better than to ask Abby for back-up on that one. This is the girl who IM's her boy-toys on a regular basis! Abbs, you rocked in this one!
McGee. Now I don't know how truly fond I was of the character at first. But I like the way he's being written now. And I like the way they're starting to change the Tony/McGee dynamic. Tony's not always trying to put down McGee. Not that I think he always was before... I think that was his way of trying to make sure that McGee stayed on his toes, the way some older cop treated Tony as a rookie somewhere. But now, Tony does try to give some advice every now and then. I think Tony was genuinely trying to be helpful when he was going to warn McGee about the poison ivy. And I like that McGee is standing up for himself more. You knew it was going to happen when Tony was trying his best to protect Tim, didn't you? Come on... it had to happen that way. Both for the humor value and for the learning value. Tony may be Tim's biggest pain in the ass, but every now and then Tony might just be worth listening to. And I do like that there are times when they wind up on the same side of the Kate-baiting thing too. That bit was just too funny. Mainly 'cause I been in or witness to many similar converstaions in my life.
And we're down to Kate and Tony. And no, I'm not going to make this about them as a couple. I'm not even going to try to make this about the sex thing... really. I liked them both in this ep. I get a kick out of Tony sneaking up on Kate, probably much the same way Gibbs sneaks up on Tony all the time. Gibbs to Tony, Tony to Kate. He passes it down the line in the team. Kate even gives her share to McGee, although she's nicer. Tony makes up for the slack there.
Kate and the dog was a scream. First the dog wanted nothing to do with her, then she winds up adoping it. And the bit with Gibbs at the end.
"Unless you want her" Did you catch that hand gesture? It fairly screamed "Oh no, leave me the hell out of this!"
As far as all the sex talk, all I'll say is I've worked in an office building full of engineers. Trust me, that kind of conversation goes on all the time. What was on the show was tame by comparison if you want the truth. Some places may be very strict, others very loose in what they'll allow. But for the most part, the conversations will stray to the topic at some point. And they don't always stay that polite. :: shrugs ::
Okay... that's it for this week... Until next week and Pop Life... still waiting for the press release for that...

But that was just a tad extreme. agreed. i was so SHOCKED when he blew it up. but i loved tony's line - i think ya got him, boss! LOL i wasn't saying it's not realistic - i just think it's unneccessary. but i agree with what someone said here earlier - this is all a set up for the ep where kate turns tony in. 'cause you automatically assume she's gonna turn him in over sexual harassment.

Yeah, I totally loved this episode- nothing really long or interesting to say about it. Everything I liked has been commented on. Just have to say that the dog Tony's so cute! Aw! But my mother and I were both so sad when Runion started swearing at her to get in the trailer (I don't remember exactly what he said, and I'm sure I'm not allowed to repeat it), but we both went "aww, that's horrible! He deserves what's coming to him!", but we weren't expecting him to blow it up. It was cool, no doubt about it, but unexpected. If Runion were still alive, I would be glaring and saying a few choice words of my own to him about how he treats animals...

Ok, so this ep was one of favorites. I just have one quick question, when Abby was talking to the team about how someone told her she could read lips very well (can't remember the name), then Kate asks Gibbs "Deaf sister?" and he says "Deaf mother." Did that mean it was Abby's mother or Gibbs mother

I believe that in the first season, Gibbs says that Abby's parents are both deaf. I don't recall the specific episode, you'll have to wait until GG gets here to figure that out.

In the first season, during The Curse, I believe, we learn that both of Abby's parents were deaf. Now I haven't rewatched this ep with the captioning on... I've only seen it twice but I believe that the conversation is something like Abby saying "so and so said it was never my strong point" (can't remember the name off the top of my head). Kate asks, "Deaf sister?" since Abby used a first name, and Gibbs replies, "Deaf mother."
To me this is one more piece of the puzzle that Gibbs knows Abbs family. I don't know if Abby has siblings or not, but if you go back and listen to the conversation you can pick out the elements pretty clearly. Abby is talking to Gibbs, and uses her mother's first name for his benefit. Kate, curious as to who Abby is talking about, asks a question; it's obvious in the inflection of her voice. Gibbs answers definitively.
I'll go back and watch with the captioning at some point to clarify... it's still on the TiVo. But I have a lot of cleaning to do this weekend. I shouldn't even be here right now.
shhh... don't tell....

I finally was able to watch this episode, after waiting nearly a week because of my busy schedule. Pretty good, though I wouldn't say it was the best I've seen. I definately could have done without the sex talk, a little I can handle but I agree it was unnecessary.
I loved the dog! Of course, I love all dogs, but little Tony was still cute. I also like when Human Tony went from ragging on McGee to the two of them ganging up on Kate. Pretty funny, even if I would have preferred another topic.
Can't wait till next week!

Actually, I believe the ep where we actually learn this is Seadog. There is some signing in The Curse, but Seadog is the first one where Abby signs to Gibbs. Tony says, "Abby signs?" Gibbs' response is, "Yeah...her parents were deaf." Tony asks Gibbs where he learned, but Gibbs never replies. Sorry...just watched Seadog the other day, and had to interject that. ;D
