This is probably not the best place to discuss the war... Every one has feelings and they run very high for the most part. Whether you're pro or con it doesn't matter, if you feel the need to say something please keep it to off topics. We have a bomb squad to pick up thing there if it gets out of hand. Which it won't because I know you guys are able to express an opinion with out malice. sorry, Lelu. i got to thinking after i posted this that maybe i shouldn't have. the coffee is what made it come to mind... didn't intend to start any war discussions - we are a non-political board. if you want to delete my post, so nothing gets started, go ahead. i understand. and i'm sure they are buying the boys coffee - but i don't know if it'll be starbucks. they said the letter they sent back was pretty nasty... and dottie - my car LOVES hazelnut, too. ;D

just thought i'd pass this on.
some of our local boys who are overseas [in the war] wrote home saying they miss their Starbucks coffee... some of the local people got together and asked Starbucks if they could help in some way - discounts or whatever - so we could send Starbucks to our boys.
Starbucks refused to help in any way, shape or form because they do not believe in the war and do not want to be affiliated with it in any way.
Now, i personally believe Starbucks has the right to feel however they want to feel about the war - and anything else - but i don't like the fact that they refused to help. i mean, they could have said - as they did - that they believe this war is wrong, but still made some sort of effort to help get coffee to the troops. i don't believe everyone who's over there necessarily believes the war is RIGHT, but they are doing their job as they see it. anyway, the locals here are boycotting Starbucks. which isn't a good thing for Starbucks because rumor has it they're buying the old Taco Bell building here in town with plans to open soon ... not being a big coffee drinker, it won't really affect me. when i do get coffee, i usually get it from the gas stations [hazelnut and english toffee are my faves]. we already have a coffee shop run by locals who are very well liked, so i don't know that a Starbucks is gonna go over well here anyway. we're not exactly a Starbucks kind of town.

i knew darla'd go for the wacky one. ;D
Nath said: ...what about Mr handsome serial Cereal Lover ?
we have to keep the titles kinda short so they don't get cut off. half the titles of some of our earlier threads never showed up because they were too long. they ended up looking like this: "Mr. HANDsome Serial Cereal Lo..."

i've opened a new thread in the off topic section so we can talk about/rejoice over the writer's strike ending.
please keep all discussion about the writer's strike in the off topic thread. dani, i'm going to leave your post here, but also copy and post it over there so we can have the links you've posted in the appropriate thread.

so far it's at the top of my list. of course... it's the only title we've got so far, right? *lol*
y'all have over 2 and half pages left here. try not to blow it up till tomorrow. i probably won't be online tonight - and i'm not sure Sean'sGirl is going to have time tonight either.

I just have to say that, despite my general dislike for Softy Gibbs, I was enjoying his protectiveness of McGee. And then they ruined it at the end with that horrible "I'll take your badge" cliche. I don't know what I would have wanted to see Gibbs do there, but all of a sudden snapping at McGee after being so understanding about everything else was seriously disappointing. i didn't read it that way at all. mcgee hesitated - and yes that was natural. but i think gibbs was trying to give him a kick in the butt to make him THINK. if mcgee is going to second guess himself from now on, he may as well turn in his badge - because he'll probably get shot while he's trying to decide if he sould pull his gun. gibbs was trying to get that message thru to him in true gibbs fashion. it would have been totally unrealistic for him to set mcgee down and say, " okay. we have to talk. i understand what you're going thru..." i felt this was very realistic as to the way gibbs does things.

Ziva: I know some people were annoyed at her, but I really didn't see it as annoying. Ziva, considering they didn't find a bullet or a gun, thought it was likely that McGee may have made a mistake. She was in enough situations to know this happens, even to good people. Even though she thought this was the case she arrived at 4:00 AM at work to try and help and gave McGee advice which I for one think he should have payed more attention to. She was being supportive. Last episode she didn't for a second consider the possibility that Tony may be guilty, because there's a big difference between murdering a woman and chopping her up, and shooting someone by mistake. (although considering the fact that she just recently found out her brother was a Hamas terrorist and her father a crazy nice guy, I wouldn't blame her if she had some trust issues). Her standing up to Gibbs is in my opinion great. It is well past time someone did. I agree with you. i didn't feel ziva was putting mcgee down. she knows he's a 'probie' - and she knows how these things can go down. also, like you said, she was in at 4 a.m. to help mcgee - even tho she really thought he had made a mistake. i think she respects gibbs enough to go along with him - even when she totally disagrees. eventually she will be like tony and just KNOW that GIBBS IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!!! my neighbor - who i watch NCIS with - says she can't find a reason for them to keep including jen. she says she doesn't add anything to the show. i had to laugh and tell her about this board - and that most of us agree with her.

glad to see i wasn't the only one disatisfied with the reason for kate's death. that was the only lame part of the show. since Rain has done such a magnificent recap already, i'll just say i loved the end when abby played the jazz song for kate. that was cool and made the ending not quite so teary.
my favorite lines [not exact quotes]:
tony: ... so i pretended to be this really dumb... gibbs: Pretended? tony: That hurt, Boss.
also when gibbs says he stole the pizza from the night crew. lol. THAT is the type of dialogue that makes this show so great!!
and i have just one more word for you: BOXERS!!!!

you know, i bet she could do those slice and bake cookies. and i really doubt that tony could tell the difference between them and homemade.

we'd reached page 10 in thread #2...
please know that the other mods are keeping a close eye on the issue as to what we are allowed to post. i'm not very computer literate, so i leave that to them. if we are ever in danger of crossing the line, one of them will post - just as they did regarding the episode transcripts - and warn us of what is and isn't allowed.
now... what did you think of Shalom?
