An episode has to be really spectacular for me to give it a grade of 8 or higher, so I went with a very strong 7. Based on the adverts for this ep, I was actually dreading it, but it turned out to be much better than expected. I want them to write Tony like this more often and Jimmy? Good Lord, he was the highlight of the entire hour.
"I begged and begged." Heh.

Well, unfortunately, it seems to me that all people are defined by the most vocal extremists in their midst. The majority of Muslims may be one thing, but the nutjob Jihadist terrorists define how they're perceived, just like the nutjob Christians (like that freak who who protests military funerals with inane signs about this being God's punishments for gays or somesuch nonsense) taint how Christianity is sometimes. Human nature, I guess.

I just hate it that he killed his brother for becoming a moslem. I hate it. That was one of the things that bothered me because it felt inappropriately politically correct and not based in anything that's been reported in the news. Uh ... what? The entire episode was written to cast Islam in the victim light. There wasn't any terrorists in it at all ... for that matter, the last time we had Islamic bad guys on the show was 7x01 with Saleem and he was a Jihadist nutjob. I don't understand the complaint (and no, I'm not trying to start a fight; just trying to understand what you mean.)

I really liked Gibbs' visible frustration with his dad though ;D I am sooooooooooooo happy you found something to like. You've made our nicest Mod, jo, very happy. Well given my sudden and precipitous drop in "karma" it seems like I should have just said nothing at all. Geez, people. I did exactly as instructed and still got kicked for it. What's up with that? * Ducky and Jack together working on the hand-made toys. Forgot to mention that scene. It was probably my favorite up until Gibbs lived up to the second B in his name by siccing Ducky on his dad. Guess it's true - no matter how old you are or what kind of a bad ass you are, you can still be afraid of your dad. McGee and Ziva teaming up against Tony Just curious, but when was the last time McGee teamed up with Tony to mess with Ziva, or she teamed up with DiNozzo to mess with Tim? 'cause I honestly can't remember. It always seems like they're teaming up against him anymore. Always. I thought it was kind of uncalled for on Tim's part to reveal Tony's part in the secret Santa thing, though, especially since I don't recall DiNozzo being a jackass to McGee of late. Ziva always looks good. Even when she had that bloody scar in Aliyah, she was hot ... Although that might just my personal "Cote is gorgeous" bias kicking in...

I didn't much like it - thought it was too predictable (knew who killed the guy as soon as the killer showed up) and just weirdly paced and acted. Apart from Jackson Gibbs, the guest acting felt off to me and the bar fight seemed completely tacked on. The payoff of the secret Santa thing for Tony made no sense - why would something like that be in a personnel file?
I really liked Gibbs' visible frustration with his dad though - it reminds me a lot of my own problems with my mom, albeit I don't have as many problems with her as Gibbs does, but we honestly have nothing in common, so conversations are pretty difficult.
Also appreciated that the team dynamics seemed kind of normal for a change...

Pack your bags, Tim. Looks like you're going on a guilt trip.

I was pretty bored with it and had a lot of trouble buying the very notion of this thinktank, thus this ep didn't do much for me. It wasn't a total loss - I liked seeing Ziva taking the shot, and she looked especially tasty throughout this ep - but otherwise, the ep didn't do anything for me so I couldn't give it more than a 5.

Has anyone seen an explanation for the change in his wardrobe this season? Last year, he was always in suits, but this year, he's dressed more casually and I don't think we've seen him in a tie all season. I'm not complaining - I actually prefer the more casual (yet still professional) look but it's certainly a noticeable change IMO.

Am I the only one disappointed that this episode doesn't herald the return of Faith Coleman?

It wasn't as bad as I expected - normally, I hate Franks' episodes - but it definitely wasn't one of my favorite eps. I give a 6 because it was above average, but nothing spectacular.

7. Was certainly better than the previous one and a pleasant return to casefiles that have nothing to do with the annoying Mossad plot, but it could have been better. I thought they overdid the 'Tony as goof-off' elements in this, and really thought that he turned inexplicably dumb at the end when Ziva was clearly up to something, but I was pleased to see Gibbs actually interact with Abby for like the first time in forever. And yay for Palmer!

Ok, are these ok? Yeah, those are the images I'm looking for in hi-res quality. These will work, though. Thanks! ;D While I might not have really cared much for the episode, she looks gorgeous in this scene...
