Well this ep was well worth the wait (although I think that a 3 week break mid-season is unacceptable!!). Thoroughly enjoyable - and although everyone had great lines and we got to see the 'team' at work- Tony was the star.
Liked the continuity of Pacci from the previous ep.
Thought MH played Gibbs reaction to Pacci's death just right. Just the right amount of angst. (My only query however is who did Pacci report to? If Gibbs is the head of his team, who was the head of Pacci's?)
Abby was great - especially her scene in the lift
Loved Ducky's assistant's reaction to Ducky talking to the corpse. Miss Gerald though. Is he coming back?
McGee was great. He plays off Tony so well. As much as I like the idea of him replacing Kate, I'm sure if he was in the series every week, then he would get boring. I think his appearance every 4 or 5 eps or so is just right.
I enjoyed Tony teasing Kate - especially him using the mike to eavesdrop on her conversation on the mobile. Such a cheeky boy.
Can't sing enough praise of MW during this ep. He was brilliant. He obviously loves to play the role of the practical joker. And so many Logan moments!! Sigh
My gripe of the week? Like everyone else I have 2.
- Kate's treatment of Tony at the end
- Jamie Luner passing as a gender bender
It was unfortunate that Kate persisted in teasing Tony right at the end of the ep. Like someone posted earlier - Abby knew when to stop, Kate just proceeded to be nasty for the sake of it. Thought maybe it would have been nice if Kate started to ask the question but then stop and change the subject when seeing how humiliated Tony was feeling.
The casting of Jamie Luner as Voss was just not believable. Way too feminine. I'm no expert, but I have met/known a few people that have 'crossed over' and the crossover is never that perfect. I guess its a difficult storyline in that the writers wanted Tony to get up close and personal with the suspect (so they couldn't make her too masculine or boyish). .
