Kiki, you have to register to go on the set visit. This does not mean you either have to stay at the hotel or turn up at the other things. Judging by the amount of people who went on the set visit, I'd say a few, maybe locals, did this. Not sure when they would have registered. I was staying at the hotel, so obviously registered and got my badge Thursday evening. We then gathered outside the hotel on Saturday morning at about 10.15, for the 10.30 set off in the busses to the set. After making sure that NO ONE had cameras or camera phones, off we went. I think we left about fourish, but I'm sure someone will remember the real time. Back to the hotel for a quick bite to eat, we were not really hungry, since we'd been fed at the set, then into the hall for the raffles etc. Other than the booth goodies which were free, you could not really buy anything except for Operation gratitude Tshirts. You bid on the auction lots, but could buy an auction lot outright if no one had bid on it and you were prepared to pay the asking price, usually about $300. I was surprised that there was nothing to buy like Tshirts, caps or photos etc. But it is run by fans for other fans to meet each other as a charity raising event, so is not really a commercial enterprise. Knowing this year how many goody bags the booths have to make up, and that it is all done by the runner of the booth, it would be difficult, not to mention prohibitively expensive to make multiple Tshirts and things. How would you know what would and would not sell like hot cakes, big risk to take. I like to thank the booth runners from last year and the ones who are doing it this year.
BTW maybe this is a good opportunity to ask. What would we like to see at the Fan Fest for sale? Perhaps if there are one or two overwhelming things we'd all like, it might be worth the risk of getting them made.

Meg nice to see, since our Cannuck from last year, cannot make it this year , you can uphold the tradition of Canada ;D. Why is George Hamilton IV singing "Alberta Bound" in my head? Shakes it, no it is still there.

Can we do a Country, or even State count, just so we can see where we are all coming to LA from? Little things please me, and when Jo was driving Ardith and I back from OKC we stopped at a roadside cafe and they had maps up where we put our pins. Thought, wonder if the hotel could do that for us? Maybe we could add our pins when we register for FF and give it to the set.

Do you think they will have put the finishing touches to Episode 1 by then? It is still quite a few days before the season launches. I liked watching the episode with so many other fans, bit like going to the pictures.

More than likely it will be held in the same place. The start/finish date will vary slightly. It is earlier this year, than we were told it would be at last years. Due to Hotel being booked, was the reason given for change of date. NCIS Fan Fest seems to be carrying on from the JAG Fan Fests, so I suppose for as long as NCIS stays on air, a new FF will take place. I'm hoping that the set visits that have been enjoyed by both JAG and last year by NCIS FF attendees, were not just at the discretion and invite of DPB. And that his day to day role change will not stop us being invited to the non working day set. It does seem many crew members have a military link, and the charities that benefit are military so fingers crossed for another visit. It is very interesting to see behind the scenes. News of the setvisit invite went out fairly late last year. I'm sure there are people who attended the JAG FFs, who can tell us when they found out that they could visit the JAG sets, and I'd like to know myself. Just going to meet like minded people is worth it anyway. Fun will be had.

I'll 2nd that wish. Shame because lots were taken, and they could have raised money with the sale of it.

www.ncisfanfest.com/2007/raffles/index.htmlThe raffles for the Fan Fest are up. You don't have to attend to win these. Last year quite a few of the winners had bought their tickets online. If you win they post them to you. I think 2 winners, even though they were attending the FF, had bought the winning ticket online.

My name badge last year had Marion and in brackets mchnelson. I liked seeing a new episode with like minded people. I heard Chas tell John, during my groups tour of the set that he was impressed that we all got the nuances that they had put in the programme. Laughed, groaned and clapped where they wanted us to.

Harriet has posted the rerun schedule, the new season does not start until 25th September. Now if we get an invite to the set, A) it means they may still be finishing off episode 1 B) it may mean we won't get to see a new episode, like we did on the set visit last year C) does not bear thinking about so I'll just re-enact the scene from Magic in the Water, where the guy is trying deny Orca exists.

The fan pictures you have seen of Mark, David and Michael were not taken on the Fan Fest set visit. Some lucky people have good contacts and got to visit before the FF set visit. Pauley was only on the phone, she had hurt herself that week, her back, I think!! Harriet was around alot, so you should be able to get yourself a picture with her. No CD has materialised yet.

Old age, old age? That's what Post it Notes are for, why do you think I now have one on the computer telling me where the threads new home is? By the time the glue stops sticking, I'll have it ingrained in the old brain cell. I smile everytime Abby slaps one on Gibbs.

Nici, I guess my name is down? Tshirt is on its way. New mantra " I am that saddo, who is travelling 4000 miles, for a TV show (Oh! and to meet up again with many people I met last year, reason enough on its own) " BTW book by 30th April and it is cheaper. Is it 9th June yet?
