Meg, Isn't that a great picture? It's from a Man from U.N.C.L.E. LP album cover. I don't have my copy of the album anymore, but when I was a teen-ager I looked at that picture of him so much, it's still burned into my brain, lol! Not that I mind! I'll always be a big David McCallum fan. |

Isn't it also from the end credits of U.N.C.L.E with him crouched next to Napoleon looking up at a woman (whose head is cunningly cut off the top of the shot) holding a gun and Illya's eyeline is directly fixed on her...well... assets?  ?? Because that makes me giggle every time I see it!! Heehee!! |

Yes, I think you're right. I've seen different variations of that picture several places. There's a B&W version that shows the woman's face in the Man from U.N.C.L.E. Book by Jon Heitland.

Hello all!!
Going back to my new favourite topic of conversation (everyone in RL as well as online now quake with fear every time I open my gob cos I have nothing else to talk about!) - is there an actual release date for the MFU DVDs yet? I mean... it IS August now, and autumn/fall/whatever is only round the corner!!!!
I'm checking on DMcfansonline.com and mfu.org every two minutes and still getting nothing... is there really no word on this yet?? Is it me, or are they cutting it pretty fine with not announcing a date??

I copied and pasted this from David McCallum fans online. The date I've heard is October 2007 -- but not on Amazon, etc.
*The Man From U.NC.L.E. is coming soon to DVD!
It's true! Time Life is planning a fall ’07 DVD release. Man From U.N.C.L.E. will debut as a box-set including all four seasons of the series - a total of 105 episodes - in region 0. The DVDs will be released in the US and Canada only and sold by direct marketing and on-line here [at David McCallum Fans Online] for the first year.

It's possibly I'm remembering wrong because I've gotten so many emails recently that I delet almost all without reading due to lack of time. But I'm almost positive I remember someone on channel D saying something about a release date of next year.
It's very possible I'm completly off base there.

Aha!! At last!!!! News!! www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=7790Looks like it's due for release in November with pre-orders being taken in September. No price details as yet, but with a 39-DVD set I doubt it's gonna be cheap... Excitingly enough apparently it looks like the pilot episode is going to be slung on there as a bonus feature!! Wooooo!!!! I emailed Time Life, they were useless. They basically said "They haven't been released yet, but join our mailing list." No, really? They've not been released yet?? THAT'S WHAT I PUT IN MY EMAIL YOU TWITS!!!! Hmph!! Still, at least that's something - although technically speaking isn't November more Winter than Autumn?? Oh well, never mind. So long as someone DOES release them. Eventually. SG, those screencaps you've posted of Ducky are simply heavenly. I particularly like the one of him and Abby and the one where he's making a sort of "Aha!!" finger pointing upward type gesture!!! Anyway, am going back to the last film on the DVD box set. Will probably never tire of saying "Oh, she was in that other episode" or "Oooooh!!! He was in five Monkees episodes!!!!" And for the record - I LOVE Danielle De Metz, she's my favourite Supporting Actress in an U.N.C.L.E. episode. She's got an amazing sense of comic timing. What a lady. |
