8.5 here.
It was an 8, until the very end when Tony was reading that cheerleader her "rights."

I gave it a 9. Loved how tough McGee can be when someone close to him is in trouble. I hate to say this but I'm going to. Sorry. You've been warned. Sean shone. There, I said it, LOL! Besides looking amazingly good, (with the new wardrobe and the old hair back, he is looking better than he ever has, it's a very nice visual treat for his fans) McGee has really shown that he isn't afraid to stand up to ANYONE when it comes to protecting his little sister, including all but telling the Director to shove it, LOL! And if he has to be tough with his sister to keep her in line, he's not afraid to do that either. He'll obviously protect her from ANYONE, including herself, if need be. I really loved the elevator scene with Gibbs. Gibbs' anger with Tim showed not just anger over breaking the rules, but anger and maybe a bit of hurt over not being trusted enough for Tim to go to him for help. I didn't get the feeling that Gibbs was talking about NCIS when he asked Tim why he didn't go to him, he was talking about himelf, Gibbs. Lost a point because it was down a quart of Palmer, LOL! Sorry, I need that Jimmy fix or it can't be a perfect 10!

I have to add, this episode was quite a bit better than I thought it would be. I was expecting it to be cliche-ridden after seeing the trailer where McGee turns in his gun and badge. (Making him the third team member to do so since Jeopardy. I guess Tony is next.)
The elevator sequence really took me by surprise, as did Sarah's crime-solving skills in the beginning.

10 from me. even tho it was mcgee-centric -- and he was great -- everyone got air time and they were fantastic.
i liked tony's line about not understanding why mcgee hadn't told him he had a little sister... the look on ziva's face said she could tell him, but she didn't. LOL
tony, while still his wild and crazy self, has really been shown as more adult this season. i like that.
the book... obviously, everyone's gonna read it now. can't wait to hear more about it.

This was a great way to show how much McGee has matured since we first met him way back in Sub Rosa. Back then he was all by the book and unexperienced as an agent. Since working at NCIS, he has learned that sometimes things can't be handled by the book. Gibbs has taught him to stand up for his convictions despite what is said or done. His interactions with Gibbs in the elevator and the Director in her office show how much intensity and passion he has for those he cares about. Kudos to Sean for a great episode.

After a long run of wonderful eps it's my turn to pour some vinegar into the pot. I gave it a 6 with a capital 'N'. Tony was the only bright spark in what, IMO, was a snore-fest

I thought that this episode had everything that last week's episode just didn't to me. I thought that last week's episode would be better suited for airing during a non-sweeps period. I liked the focus completely being on the regular characters opposed to the recurring character's, the suspense and a much more emotional, attention keeping, case to solve. 10.

An Ep only a mother could love? Okay, that's just bad:)
I liked it, but had one major pet peeve - those wretched commercials. It should have had no commercials and been a complete hour long. Not to mention the fact that I'm sure they're making the commercials longer now. Ten minutes sound about right?

I gave this one an 8. Not my favourite episiode of the year although there were some good moments. This case of Tony's with the mystery woman (I'm assuming they are linked but then again one should never assume because.... ) has me intrigued and like someone else said I do believe it could very easily be a major story arc to the season finale which could be a scary thing if you know what I mean. okay will Cheers for now

I really liked this one, thought everyone was at his best. I find an ep even better when they get personally involved, and the things that are said between them are deeper than just talk about a case. Like Gibbs and McGee in the elevator. Really looking forward to where this book-thing is going to go!

I gave it a 8.5
Mainly because I found the little sister very annoying. But at least because of her we saw a very mature McGee. Loved it how he stood his ground in the elevator scene. The goldfish thing was kinda cute. Abby was great - another little kiss from Gibbs. And Gibbs already had the book! Better skip the Tony/Jeanne baloney. Oh, and the very beginning, McGee trying to write and the angry neighbour, that was neat. A case with a completely different angle to it. A nice change.
