nici that icon on my Archos 5 x 2 1/2 screen is most effective, but I need the bribe of a non working day set visit before I cave in again this year. By then the airfaires that are now £355 return will have gone up

Warning for "probies" attending Fan Fest, it can seriously make you friends in other countries and make you do things that sounded like a good idea at the time . Proof here is a picture of Mel taken today in Bushy Park, Hampton, Middlesex UK on her way to Hampton Court with one of my bikes (sorry Darla I forgot to give them skid lids, in my defence not much traffic). I myself have fallen foul of this phenomenon on two occasions during the past two years, causing me to fly to Dallas and visit Oklahoma (sorry Jo!). You have been warned, so go if you can.

Great! They made it out of Chicago before the snow hit. We didn't get the predicted blizzard, but we did get snow.
I've always wanted to go to UK. And I want to go to Japan and feed the bowing deer.
I guess I'll have to wait until I retire or win the lottery.

I'd LOVE to come to the FanFest but I fear I don't have the money for that journey... But maybe I can still find a way - or at least hope that there will still be a FanFest when I can make it... 2010.... 2011... (also, that would mean that we would get a LOT more episodes to see!)

Registration and hotel booking is now taking place. Wonder how big a quadruple room is? No Pay Pal again www.ncisfanfest.com/

No Pay Pal again www.ncisfanfest.com/I seriously believe that the lack of PayPal lowered the amount of the money the raffles brought in. Or... maybe the Jimmy raffle wasn't that popular. In any case... now I'm wondering if I should bite the bullet and get a roommate. $136 a night for 5 nights is a quite a bit. But I'm really a fussy person... I want to sleep when I want to sleep; I want to take my shower when I want it... been living alone too long, I guess. I had a college roommate who was really laid back, we fit together well.

$136 is pretty expensive... when I was in St Monica last year I stayed at a decent hotel for a much lesser price. I mean it's not unreasonable to pay $136 if you want a good room with nice sheets and towels, but I don't need anything other than a bed and a bathroom. Did anyone stay in a different hotel than Beverly Garland's last year? I mean I don't mind taking the bus there from a different hotel if it's possible.

I think the NCIS FanFest is a great idea, and I'd love to come, but with my current salary, it's just not possible to come to the USA just for this. However, ever since I went on holiday to the US in 2005, I want to go back. So I hope can come back in a few years time, and maybe combine my holiday with this. So NCIS better continue for a few years more. ;D

Registration and hotel booking is now taking place. Wonder how big a quadruple room is? No Pay Pal again www.ncisfanfest.com/Hello Yeah, for us Europeans it is not so good. Last year I register for me and a friend and payed with traveler checks. So we could split the Cost/fees. This year I have this possibility not so far. I hope to have this possibility again. This year it would be even better, since the early bite rate is 75 Dollar. And traveler checks are only over 200, 50 , 100 Dollars,... They dumped Pay pal, I believe , because Rick is doing everything over his business (account) and so he would pay a fee for each payment , which they receive. via pay pal. Before 08? they use a private account and so there was no fees. In Germany we have to pay a fee for traveler checks and as well money orders. So I wouldn`t mind to add a fee for the paypal transfer. It would be sure cheaper than the fees for (new) traveler checks and a international money order. Here in Germany the fee for a money order (circa $18,61 )is more expensive than for traveler checks (circa $10,61) . So I not sure , if I should pay with money order or Traveler checks. A International money order would have a higher fee, but I could probably add the exact amount. Traveler checks would have a lower fee, but you wouldn`t be able to put in the exact amount since the checks are only over $20 , $50 or $100 .So I would have to over pay it. I miss the Pay Pal possibility, since it would be the cheapest and safest way. Anne

PayPal is not a bank, it makes it's own rules and regulations and is free to change them at anytime. Many have had problems with PayPal, some have lost their accounts. For that reason the Committee made the decision to no longer use PayPal. If was a difficult decision and is harder for all of us. The NCIS Fan Fest Planning Committee

Hmmmm... should I be worried about my PayPal account? I only got it to use when I was bidding on e-Bay, but I've kicked that habit.
I would have liked to use PayPal for the speed and convenience, but it's not as if I can't write a check. I just have to find the checkbook... I do everything online now. ;D
DYING to go to Fanfest. I'll be having a milestone birthday just a couple of days later! WOO HOO! Didn't think I'd make it!
