Oh I knew there was a good reason that drove such a hard campaign to have DMT in the Top 5 eps of S2!! I hadn't rewatched the ep in a while, but it just had its first screening 'down here' this evening. What a hoot. I'm still giggling. ;D

I agree! The idea of Tony & Gibbs as a couple nearly had me running for the bathroom I was laughing so hard. And McGee! I loved him to death in this ep!

There's an interesting question up on the NCIS Wiki - Should Gibbs blame himself for Pacci's death? The choices are: Yes, because Pacci was his friend and he let him down or No, Pacci was just a coworker and Gibbs didn't do anything wrong.
I don't believe Gibbs let him down but I do think he should feel guilty. Gibbs didn't have any idea and couldn't have had any idea that Pacci was in danger - but still, he knows that Pacci asked him for help and he kind of put him off. And when the person then ends up dead, I think if that happened and a person didn't feel guilty at least for a bit until they came to terms there would be something wrong with them emotionally, if that makes any sense. They're too desensitized. It's like going through some kind of physical/emotional abuse for a period of time and not being left with some type of healing to do. Nobody's that good.
Plus, we all know about Gibbs' feelings when it comes to leaving a team member behind and/or not being there for them. He wouldn't be the Gibbs we know and love if he didn't feel guilty.
It's like a book I read where a doctor was advising an ER volunteer who had aspirations of becoming a doctor and she said that the idea of staying completely detached was a myth. Some people do stay completely emotionally detached from cases - but they are the ones who usually leave the field quickly and never belonged in the medical profession in the first place. I think the same thing applies to being a federal agent.

I just realized that we never saw the autopsy assistant from this episode ever again (Palmer appeared shortly after IIRC?) I think the way we saw him backing out slowly when Ducky was talking to Pacci's corpse was intended to be some sort of clue to his departure. ;D
Glad Ducky finally found someone who could stick around (even if we don't see him often enough ;D)

Yeah, that was too bad too. I kind of liked him.
Although, I wouldn't mind seeing a woman brought in and some teasing-flirting like a milder version of what we saw on Ice Queen and Meltdown, if Palmer ever goes to Med School.

so, I was uploading some pictures today, and my three-year-old grabs the memory card out of the computer, runs away with it and sticks it in his mouth. and not only were the pictures lost but the memory card itself was ruined & I had to get a new one. so now I am wondering if it's really possible for the memory card to survive a trip through agent pacci's alimentary canal.
but then, it is tv, isn't it.

I don't find it too hard to believe. Everything I own basically has to be somewhat waterproof... I keep forgetting stuff in my pockets when I put my clothes in the washingmachine. So far, I've washed my cellphone, USB drive, mp3... they all survived for atleast a while after being washed, and some of them even dried in the tumble/drier. I haven't swallowed any of them yet, but when it happens I'll make sure to make a note if they survive or not.

Hmmm good point. I wonder if him dying shortly after swallowing the memory card sort of, you know, halted the damage. Or something.

Well if he swallowed it I guess gaster (doh... organ between oesophagus and bowels...) acid would ruin it. But if he died just after swallowing, then I guess it won't be ruined but that's just my 2 cents

Newbie here and have been watching the DVDs to catch up on everything. Just found this board, too. Hope no one minds me going way back to the beginning here. I like the little moments in each episode (DVDs are great for catching those, huh?). In this one, it happens very soon. Gibbs is interviewing the security guard and starts to ask about when 'Chris' arrived but catches himself as he starts to say his name. The camera shot is great. It's a close up to let you see just the brief moment that Gibbs takes to compose himself before he kicks back into agent mode. Gets me every time.

I popped in the DVD to watch and listen, and I don't know how I missed it the first time. Gibbs says, "What time did Chr - - " then he pauses, looks down then says, "What time did the victim enter the building." A very poignant few seconds.

It was a pretty good episode.
( Wow, watching Tony kiss an alleged guy/girl counterpart really blew my socks off. XD)
Anyway, it was an overall good episode.
