Wow... this show gets me every time. The opening scene was probably the best opener I have ever seen in my life, and then I cried the entire rest of the episode. So powerful and moving.

It was OK, but IMO no more than that. Not funny enough for me and the way Gibbs came back to life with the whole "It's OK daddy, go back" scene was way to cliche.
I did like the Hero Tony scene though, although it was too rushed.

still absolutely wonderful, but not up to the standard the past few eps have shown. i realize this was about gibbs and his daughter's friend, but there didn't seem to be enough of the team in this one.
abby was stellar - as always. "get out of my lab..." too funny.

This was an OK episode. I enjoyed it and maybe the problem was that I was really hyped to see it and it was good but not great!! I really enjoyed the underwater scenes and Tony begging with Gibbs not to have him kiss him. I thought that was pretty good but I wasn't that impressed with the way it ended. It seemed contrived with it looking like Gibbs is dead and He sees Shannon and Kelly telling him it is ok to go back and low and behold he wakes up. This will not preclude me from watching it 800 million times but I liked last weeks one so much better

9 from me. This ep was pretty good, but I too think I was really hyped up for this one, but it was just good, not great. I agree that the ending seemed rushed. "get out of my lab..." too funny. That scene was my favorite scene in this ep! ;D I think MH did a great job in this ep! ;D Overall a solid ep!  Can't wait for next week! ;D |

I loved this episode. I even have to admit I had tears in my eyes about Gibbs's hurt. I hope he now finds peace with his past and can move on. The scene where he was nearly dead and was asked to go back, and was told that that was ok by Kelly was just a tiny bit too sweet for my taste. But hey, I can live with it. I took half a point off the 10 because I missed a scene at the end, between Tony and Gibbs. But I'm told to head over to Tweeter's fanfic, to fill that gap. So I will. Again, loved this one!  |

The opening sequence was amazing and I wanted the ep to continue on that level. It was well done, but I prefer the action/humour oriented eps, not the emotional/backstory ones. 8.5 |

I gave it a '9'...good angsty Gibbs ep, but forced at times. I loved how the team worked hard to help him, but didn't get too nosy.
I still haven't figured out how Kelly and Maddie knew each other if Maddie was on base with her family and Gibbs and Shannon and Kelly were in the house, obviously off-base. I'm sure there's some explanation, but it hasn't come to me yet. And the whole 'Daddy it's okay to go back' was a little too trite, but MH did his usual wonderful job, which made up for quite a lot.

I'm guessing through school. I don't know if Maddie would have had to go to school on base or not. For example if her parents wanted her to go to a private or Catholic school, and Shannon and Jethro wanted Kelly in the same situation, they might have met that way. I got the impression from the notes about the contents of the time capsule that they went to the same school and Kelly probably couldn't have gone to school on base if they didn't live on it.
Or they met at a Marine function for families, like an awards barbeque. We also know they shared an interest in horses and Kelly at least was quite a rider - could've been riding lessons or piano lessons.

The beginning held so much promise and then the rest of the episode didn't seem to meet up the expectation IMO. Still can't say I didn't enjoy it. The ending where Kelly said Go back Daddy didn't worry me.. seen it done a lot of times and really expected it too happen so didn't faze me at all.
