NCIS Fan Fest #4

The fest was great, and it was awesome to meet up with people that I met last year, and also new friends from all over.

Anyone who is debating about coming next year, don't hesitate because it totally rocks. The NCIS and fanfest staff couldn't be nicer to us fanatics.

Having Chas. and Liza come to the hotel was way cool. Liza is so sweet She was cute and funny and signed her autograph on all sorts of things like hats, and badges and notebooks. She also posed for pictures with each of us (Thanks Rick for being the unofficial photog!) Most of the special ops peeps played paparazzi for the others so there are multiple shots of everyone with Liza (and Chas).

At one time there was a line for photos for both Liza and Chas, which I think kinda bemused him. It was too funny that you had to tell him how to spell your name because he forgot his glasses and couldn't read your name on your badge.

Can't wait for next year!

Hee! I'm Claire, and I am on the board....I just haven't really posted in FOREVER. I'm more of a chatroom resident.


Fest was amazing. This was my first time, and I was on my first vacation on my own, and I'm a chronic pessimist in RL so I was wary about how this weekend would go. But this weekend was AWESOME. Everyone was so much fun, so cool, and so nice (loves you mahannie and tweeter!!♥) and this was just too much fun. The real life NCIS agents were really interesting, and the set trip just. rocked. so. hard. Mahannie and I went halvsies on a silent auction item (that we won! woot!) and i had a blast just watching ppl go during the live auction. I tried bidding whenever I would bid something like $30 someone would yell $100 at the same time and its like "screw that". Hee. Chas and Liza coming to see was so very sweet, and even Pauley called us and talked to us (while she was sitting on her couch with Amerca's Most Wanted on pause on her tv)

Seriously. Anyone who is debating going next year. Do it. The hotel is beautiful, the staff is cool, and the Fanfest commitee is so hardcore awesome. You meet some of the coolest people in the world who wont look at you weird when you get all in detail about the show.

As you can see, Mahannie, Nici, and Claire were obviously really disappointed in the whole shebang and bored silly and just couldn't wait to go home and get away from this nonsense.

Oh yeah: don't forget to come early enough next year to catch a ride down to Skeletons in the Closet, the LA County Coroner's gift shop. They probably set a new 2-day sales record last Thursday and Friday.

Darla and Craig should get commission for the people that went to Skeletons during Fan Fest ;D But the jacket and Laptop bag for such a small amount of money, unbelievable. I now wish I'd got the black scrub pants. Glad to see none of us enjoyed ourselves ;D ;D ;D

Managed to find an internet cafe on hollywood boulevard (where I am the noo, oot on a shopping spree ;D), anyhoo my thoughts on fanfest,

1. I AM GOING next year if i can get off work ;D

It was absolutely brilliant, not just the set visit, but the whole 4/5 days, but the set visit definately was something else, and the hospitality shown to us by chas,avery and everyone else that day was out of this world, if you are reading this guys and gals thank you very very much, and then to have chas and liza attending that same night speaks volumes for the people involved with our show, and then what really ended a great great day was actually winning something (ive never won a thing in my life).

and then there was the costume party, that was a hoot, all those ducky's, abby's et all absolutely brilliant.

then to actually put faces to names was good too, now i actually know some of the folks i stay up to 3/4 am in the morn to talk to ;D

A couple of very special personal thanks to a couple of folks, Darla and liz who chauffered us around a few times, and mchnelson for lugging some of my stuff home for me ( im still in LA, here for another 2 weeks yet).

Vonny if you get on again, do you want me to start sending the stuff while you are away, or leave it until you get home, will someone take it indoors for you if the postman delivers? If I don't hear from you I will keep it until you return, better safe than sorry, it is not stuff you want going missing.

Well, I just want to say how great it was to meet up with old friends from last year; Darla, Ray, Nici, Jo, Marion, Melanie, Liz, Sarah, Jane, Cindy; and make new friends; Claire, Christina, Mel (who I correspond with, but never really met last year) Daphne (kind of met last year), Meg and her aunt, and Vonny. I met a lot more people, but I'm better with faces than names, so if I haven't listed you, please forgive me.

Thanks to everyone who cheered so loudly for me, earning me the Best Costume prize. My mother tried to take my Season 4 blanket.

Thanks to Darla and Liz for being wonderful drivers.

I had a wonderful time, mostly due to the great company and the fun talks we had.

I didn't get a cat today, I went to bed instead of going to the Anti-Cruelty Socity. I plan on going Thursday, when I'll have the entire day and most of the day Friday with my new friend before I have to leave it for a few hours.

Oh, funny story from one of the NCIS agents. She was an interrogator in Fallujah and was interrogating a young man accused of planing an IED. To try to gain a rapport, she chatted a bit with him and found out his favorite TV show is NCIS. He didn't know she was an NCIS agent. She asked him if he knew about forensics, and he happily told her that yes, he did, and how Abby has this huge lab. Then she told him they found his fingerprint on the trigger mechanism and his face just fell. He ended up telling them where three more unexploded IEDs were and gave up some people.

That was interesting. Tweeter if you have the picture of Jo and I in our blue tops either side of the Ducky poster, could I have a copy, even if you don't want to post it openly? It looked good on the camera screen. We missed the agents, Darla was taking us to Skeletons. Enjoy kitty when you get him/her/it?
