OOF, I can't think of an episode more cliched or pedantic. Good lord where did the writers get that dreck...Pretentious or us. Total waste of David McCallum. He deserves better and he did the best he could but there was no overcoming that script.

I guess I'm the polar opposite. I thought it was excellent. I wouldn't give it a 10, but I thought it was one of the best this season. I'm a little confused about the vote alternativ though... pok what? *edit nevermind I get it now.

I gave this episode a 9. It was very good, one of the better episodes this season.

I seem to be the lone 10 here so far, even checking in as late as I am this time around. For me, it's not the story. Let's face it, a lot of times the premises come very close to serious suckage. But the performances? DMc rocked my socks off with this ep, and the others weren't at all far behind him. Sweet Jimmy, trying so hard to make it all better. Tony trying to find something in the sailor's death scene.
ETA: The Super Chicken theme song, along with Tom Slick and George of the Jungle, is one of my guilty pleasures, and is on the MP3 player I take to the gym.

I'll be next in line to give it a 10. I really feel that David McCallum's performance should earn him an Emmy nod. ;D

I gave it an 8. David McCallum was excellent (the scene on morphine was hilarious), but I think it was just too much for one episode.

I knew the ending way before the end but i still gave it a high score. I loved David in this episode. Best part was the morphine. I agree that it's not always the story but the characters that keep me coming back.

Tony, watching and re-watching to prove the Duckman's innocence - plus his "interview" with the ambassador. He didn't care who the man was. And I love Kort in the same way I loved Steven Culp's character on JAG. He's a "bad" good guy and makes things interesting. Glad to see he's still around. [Just as long as they don't over-use him.]

I agree that it's not always the story but the characters that keep me coming back. I gave it a 8.5 because a Ducky-centric episode gets a 6.5 automatically. I agree with you, I knew the ending early and the actual story wasn't that good. Specific scenes were terrific- Ducky on morphine, and I like the scene where Ducky was talking at home inter-cut with Gibbs reading his file.

8.5 Enjoy the episode but there just seemed to be something lacking, David Mac was brilliant and it was great to see an episode centred around Ducky.
