I give it a 6 out of 10. Slightly better than previous episodes - I rather liked the Tony/Tim banter and it was pleasant to see Competent Tony make a return - but it was nowhere near as good as hyped. And the final shot was so predictable that it made my teeth hurt.
And it really failed to fire me up about the spin-off.

Paraphrasing Sally Field: "I liked it, I really liked it." - and much more than I expected to. Gave it a 9.5 since it did it's job and left me wanting more. Really liked Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and his relationship with Gibbs. Really liked Tony and Abby's scenes - especially telling her to delete the Michael Aaron Rivkin search. Really liked McGee getting as giddy as a school girl over the techie toys. Really liked Tony and Ziva scenes - ah, secrets. Can anyone say "tension?" Really liked Tony (again) and Ducky - with Gibbs gone it was meet and right that he go to Ducky. AND I really really liked that Michael Rivkin show up to meet "Liam" I know spoiler tags aren't really required here, but I thought I'd be polite. I'll remove them on Wednesday evening.

I'm with Rigil Kent, this episode just didn't do it for me. I found it boring. But that's just me....

I liked it and I like the vibe of the spin off. Its not perfect and I have my complaints with it but I'll give it enough rope to hang itself, if nothing else. As far as the last shot, yea it was quite predictable but for me thats not a problem. I think the purpose of this episode was to quite simply immerse the audience in a very thick plot. If anyone didn't know that Michael was a shady character from 5 minutes in then they should know. What they need to know is that Michael and Ziva are up to there necks in something, theres a bigger picture that hasn't been seen yet. Daddy David wouldn't let a agent that far off the leash if he didn't know exactly how this is going to play out, or at least think he did.
Assuming the writers of this show are sticking to the laws of the every decent espionage thriller, which could prove a dubious assumption, theres something to keep in mind here. Michael is in a very precarious position, he has no official cover as an Israel agent so therefor he has no immunity and if hes working in the US without the knowledge of anybody in the US intelligence services he's on the hook for whatever crimes he commits and from the look of thing he's going to have blood on his hands soon. Ziva would know this and she would also know that once Gibbs and the rest of our fearless crime stoppers are on the scent its not going to be easy for him to get away. The question is whose going to compromise first Ziva, Vance or Daddy David. I'm smelling a third act plot twist somewhere down the line.

Yeah, but then he yells bloody murder, calling out Ziva's name when he gets caught in the promo for next week.
Not very spy-ish. I liked Hanna and Callen. Macy has to go, though. I found her annoying.

If for no other reason than to not get shot. Theres really only two questions A. How far out on a limb will she go for him? and B. How far out on the limb will her father and Vance let her go?

I'm giving it a 9.5. And I agree with most everything MrClark said, so I won't repeat.
I think they're trying to play Macy as a female Gibbs - and it's a bit too much. They need to give her her own personality. Loved Chris O'Donnell - not sure about any of the others yet.
Loved McGee's awe over all the tech stuff.
Inquisitive Tony - especially coupled with equally inquisitive Abby - is always fun.
Abby's fear that either Gibbs or McGee won't return - I wanted to hug her.

I really liked it actually, I voted 9. I'm not totally sold on the new team yet, but the format looks good and if it gets picked up by CBS for the fall, I'm definately on board. I knew there was something wrong with Michael Rivkin. He just wouldn't come to the United States by accident at that time. I'm looking forward to Part II

I gave it a 5. Here's why... 5/5 for NCIS stuff and 0/5 for the spinoff stuff. I found that I wasn't even watching if none of our regular cast was on, BUT I do understand why it was spinoff character intensive... so they could introduce the new characters, duh . But none of them interested me. I loved the Tony/Abby interaction and how intense he got about deleting the search. And how Tony kept watching the video footage. But I'm confused. I feel I know nothing about Michael. I actually got the impression that he's just a family aquaintance, maybe Moussad, maybe not, and that Ziva's father sent him for an arranged marriage (one that's been planned for a long time)- and one that Ziva does not look too happy about. That said, I found the last scene very surprising. Did not see that coming . McGee and the tech was hilarious! But that LA team reminded me of some other show... some other spinoff... that was the third in it's line... and the least popular of it's series. I got this whole CSI: Miami feeling about the whole team. It seemed too flashy and they tried too hard to make characters dark and mysterious. I can't really put my finger on it, but it just reeked of Miami. That said, I can't wait to see part 2 to find out how our team's story plays out.

6 /10
It's difficult to judge the merits of a story when going by the first part. Right now, it was just fairly good for me.

Just a 6 for me. I simply just don't care about the other team. I don't have a problem with them being 'high tech', but David Copperfield playing on the giant iPhone really bugged me.
I think it's difficult when they suddenly try to force a new team (that we're supposed to care about) upon the viewer. I'd rather watch a day in the life of Fornell or a character that we'd met before.
