Who knew Abby was so good at manipulation?

Wow! They are really pulling everything out for this one — two sneak peaks? I don't think they've done that before have they? Even for the Season Premier.
BTW, I really like the snow flakes!

Not sure I'll be on here later, so I wanted to post this now. The mods have been receiving complaints because so many of the posts lately seem very negative. While everyone agrees that people are entitled to their own opinions, this is supposed to be a FAN BOARD for people who enjoy the show and/or the actors.
I'd like to ask that when you post, please post at least ONE THING about the episode that you enjoyed - it may be a single line, Ziva's/Abby's clothes, team interaction ... whatever it might have been - along with whatever dissatisfied you or you found "wrong" with the episode. ALSO, if you feel the need to continue discussing whatever it is that you disliked or had a problem with - please take it here: Nitpicks & Niggles and post in the Grumbles About Episodes thread.
I know there are those of you who have working knowledge about certain aspects that come up or locations that are supposedly used -- and when it's wrong, I understand that that bugs some of you. I'm also sure that if you're still watching, there are still things about the show that you like. Let us know what those are, too.
Thanks, jo

I'm looking forward to this episode. My response to Ziva's "bahumbug"? Gezhundheit. Okay, I'm sure that's misspelled, but you get the idea.

I didn't much like it - thought it was too predictable (knew who killed the guy as soon as the killer showed up) and just weirdly paced and acted. Apart from Jackson Gibbs, the guest acting felt off to me and the bar fight seemed completely tacked on. The payoff of the secret Santa thing for Tony made no sense - why would something like that be in a personnel file?
I really liked Gibbs' visible frustration with his dad though - it reminds me a lot of my own problems with my mom, albeit I don't have as many problems with her as Gibbs does, but we honestly have nothing in common, so conversations are pretty difficult.
Also appreciated that the team dynamics seemed kind of normal for a change...

Phil, It would be in her psychological profile if she ever mentioned it - could have been a simple "essay" type question "Is there anything you wanted as a child and didn't get?". And as Tony said he had legal access to the file due to his security clearance.
Lots to love in this episode even knowing right off the bat who "done it".
* Tony's initial reaction to who at NCIS he drew in the Secret Santa draw. * Tim (with Ziva egging him on) outing Tony to Delores. * Gibbs and Jack - Mark and Ralph are incredible together. * Carol - Abby's friend. Would love Meredith to return. * McGee "fibbing" to get Satellite time - he did make a good Santa. * Ziva kicking butt - especially knowing that Cote calls herself a Girly Girl. * Ducky and Jack together working on the hand-made toys. * My relief when it wasn't dementia. * OH and the big one for this Ohio girl living in South Florida - LOTS OF SNOW! (on that note - thanks guys/gals for putting falling snowflakes on this site.)
I'll have more for this list after I re-watch for my Observations on Wednesday.

I, too, need to watch again, but overall, I enjoyed it.
I'm a big softie so I loved the end scenes. I'm so glad that Jackson's problem wasn't cancer or something like that. I like that he went to his son for advice. I was worried, though, when he set that fire because as Pops Booth, he set a kitchen on fire and did have a bit of dementia, or at least needed to be at an assisted living facility (or was it a nursing home?).

I really liked Gibbs' visible frustration with his dad though ;D I am sooooooooooooo happy you found something to like. You've made our nicest Mod, jo, very happy. I am forced to stay home tonight ( no the cops aren't looking for me) so I shall watch our show. I have not seen a show with commercials since 2002 so this should be a treat. Don't ask about my DVRs. NCIS starts in 10 minutes. I am really looking forward to reading all your thoughts on this special Christmas episode.

I rather liked the episode. Tony's gesture to the HR lady was very thoughtful and Ziva was quite touched. Good scene Jackson Gibbs is a treat. Yeah, lots of good scenes and moments with our team. IMO

It was a little eerie seeing Meredith Eaton in the episode, since she's Michael Gilden (Marty)'s widow, but I can never complain about seeing her on screen. Having her and Abby together in the same scenes was practically an overdose of beautiful women.

Eh, it was pretty good. (Thank goodness for DVR's, already got to watch it twice!) This one seemed a little "off" as far as the case itself (and yes, predictable), but there were still LOTS of things I liked about it... 1) Tony's reaction to Ziva's "Bahumbug!" (<--which was also hysterical) 2) McGee's fictitious Admiral's name 3) McGee and Ziva teaming up against Tony 4) The further development of the relationship between Gibbs and his father, especially the moments where Jackson finally admitted what was wrong, and when they left to deliver the toys. 5) Although Tony's Secret Santa gift wasn't necessarily realistic, I liked the fact that the writers gave us a moment of Tony being thoughtful and grown-up for a change, rather than the overgrown frat boy he's sometimes characterized as. 6) Ziva's approving look at Tony as Dolores reacts to the present. 7) The cheek kisses with McGee and Abby at the very end. Even if you're not a McAbby shipper, it's a beautiful moment of friendship between the two of them. 8) Ziva's clothes. She looked so cute/pretty tonight! And, best moments of the night... 9) Gibbs telling his dad to "quit making my team fat," and then telling Tony "Go ahead, have one more. Bubble butt." I was HOWLING laughing! Poor Tony... Also... Was anyone afraid something horrible was going to happen at the end with the mom on the MTAC feed? Am I overly cynical for halfway thinking that the ship was going to get attacked while she was talking to her son or something?! LOL

I really liked Gibbs' visible frustration with his dad though ;D I am sooooooooooooo happy you found something to like. You've made our nicest Mod, jo, very happy. Well given my sudden and precipitous drop in "karma" it seems like I should have just said nothing at all. Geez, people. I did exactly as instructed and still got kicked for it. What's up with that? * Ducky and Jack together working on the hand-made toys. Forgot to mention that scene. It was probably my favorite up until Gibbs lived up to the second B in his name by siccing Ducky on his dad. Guess it's true - no matter how old you are or what kind of a bad ass you are, you can still be afraid of your dad. McGee and Ziva teaming up against Tony Just curious, but when was the last time McGee teamed up with Tony to mess with Ziva, or she teamed up with DiNozzo to mess with Tim? 'cause I honestly can't remember. It always seems like they're teaming up against him anymore. Always. I thought it was kind of uncalled for on Tim's part to reveal Tony's part in the secret Santa thing, though, especially since I don't recall DiNozzo being a jackass to McGee of late. Ziva always looks good. Even when she had that bloody scar in Aliyah, she was hot ... Although that might just my personal "Cote is gorgeous" bias kicking in...
