I can't even put into words how much I loved this episode. I'll have to watch again, even though I did take notes. And you know what? I haven't been taking notes for a long time.
LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT.
Sure, I gave it a 10 because I loved it.
Michael was great, everyone was great. Loved the scene with Gibbs and DiNozzo Sr.
Did I mention that I loved this episode.

Generally liked it, but I actually think I preferred "Ignition" overall. The best parts were - to no one's surprise - Mr. Wagner's ADD Sr. (loved the reveal that he's totally broke and hiding it), but the Gibbs/DiNozzo father/son dynamic was once more back in full force in this ep. Really appreciated the reference to SWAK by Jethro and that last scene of the ep was pure gold, but it wasn't quite as good as I was hoping it would be. The reappearance of Ziva's necklace without any explanation where it came from irked me slightly.

Other than your comment about the necklace, your comments could have been mine (I just didn't notice the necklace, actually.) I wasn't really expecting a lighter episode, but the fact that they teased the "Junior!" first meeting, which seemed almost whimsical, and all the backstage interviews were lighter both in the actors' demeanors and in the actual lighting of the scenes (LOTS of dark scenes tonight!), it just wasn't quite what I expected. But agree wholeheartedly about the connection between Gibbs & Tony -- that last scene has been written at least a thousand times in fanfic of every type -- how nice that they finally let us see it on screen! ;D I predict I'll rewatch in a day or so and enjoy it even more.

Rarely n the 7 years that I have been following NCIS have I given an episode a 10. This is one of those times.
I was totally pleased the episode turned out as well as it did. It could have been a disaster, but it came out very well. MW and RW played off each other so perfectly. It could have been a buffoon-a-fest but, was surprisingly poignant.
I was very happy to see the Gibbs/Tony dynamic back like it hasn't been since season 1. I can't wait to have CBS put it up so I can watch again.
BTW women change jewelry all the time.

I gave it a very enthusiastic 10! So many great moments.
Just a few: * Tony and Senior having drinks (Tony non-alcoholic beer) and the reference back to being left alone in that hotel in Hawaii while his father flew back to the mainland with a woman. And being dumped in a boarding school when he was only 8. Since this is the same year his mom died it had to be a very traumatic and lonely time for "Junior". I loved the control Tony had over his emotions. They flared up once but he got them reigned back in very quickly. A true sign of maturity.
* Gibbs taking Senior to the conference room (armory) to give him a "talking to" (I'd hoped for this scene and was thrilled it was in the episode). "He's the best young agent I've ever worked with." WOW! I loved that comment. For me it's right up there with "But now you're making things right and me proud" (from Bounce). Another high point of the scene was Senior finding out for the 1st time that his son nearly died 4 years (and some odd months) earlier. He really did look stunned. So telling that Tony never called to tell him.
* What Tony did for his father. When Senior was told that the bill was paid I thought it might have been Gibbs. Not for Senior's sake but for Tony's so he didn't have to carry out his intention to "end the game". I thought Gibbs thought Tony would regret his taking his father down and was saving him from that regret.
* Tony showing up at Gibb's house with a six-pack of bottled beer (the real deal instead of non-alcoholic), Gibbs having a large steak ready and knowing Tony well enough to know that he'd paid the bill and purchased that rather expensive airline ticket ("Why'd you do it, Tony?" - not "Did you do it?"). Loved the "Sometimes it's better to keep what you know to yourself" remark by Tony and the "Amen" response by Gibbs (his chat with the Senior DiNozzo). Especially loved the clink of the beer bottles with neither man looking at the other - they just knew.
* Even liked the scenes where Senior successfully charmed Ziva and Abby. Bothered the heck out of me but I think it was suppose to. They saw him as charming but we, the viewer, knew him for his true self. I was glad that only Gibbs saw through it.

A perfect 10. This episode is the best one I have seen in a long time. It was nice to see Tony being serious and not acting like an idiot. Loved it!!!

A big 10 here. I always rate high, because I love almost everything, and when I don't it is still at least an 8,5 or 9. But I hardly ever rate it a 10. I just can't get enough of Gibbs/Tony. And I love the teams effort to show how much they all like Tony. Glad to see a little bit of Vance back too. And I like how they keep mentioning Ducky's mother. And Robert Wagner of course. Very nice to see Tony's feelings for a change. Just loved is all.

Wellll I had to give it a 10. It was so good..I still didn't notice the necklace but that's not an issue for me so that's that. I loved the end with the steak (and the fact we get to see the living room a third time..). I knew that we would have had to seen the living room more than they said we would (or did they really say how many times we would see it?)
I also enjoyed the nod to Ducky's Mom...

10!!! Basically, what tweeter said (4-7 times ) Totally agree about the comment re: Ducky's mom. I think they keep mentioning her because they're slowly building to her last farewell. I predict that that future episode is gonna be dedicated to Nina Foch (it'd better!). Gibbs' acknowledgement of Tony had to be my personal highlight but everything was so brilliant it is hard to choose.

I don't know for sure but I think we are going to have a mother's day theme episode along the lines as well. I have no evidence except for the Mama Mallard...

Nothing more to say then LOVED IT !
10
The end scenes with my two fave men on tV was just brilliant and RJ certainly added something special as the senior DiNozzo, not just the similiar looks but well he delievered it the only way RJ Wagner could with the right mix of charm and smarm.

"Charm and Smarm" - excellent description, Swingcat. Now on to my problem. Every time I read these great comments I want to go and watch again. Thank goodness it's still up for viewing on CBS and IMDb and when it's not there anymore my Season 7 pass with iTunes.
