I signed up for the last day but it really wasn't anything new so I kinda came and went. I would come back every so often to see what they're watching. I did manage to have a nice nap that day though. hehe Hopefully this year they'll have more for us to see and whatnot.

I'm get in on Thursday. I'm so excited - I can't wait! Right now I'm trying to decide on a journal to take - I've got several I've never used and I want one for documenting everything on the trip, plus taking notes on all the Q&A sessions.

So it looks like we know of 14 people who are attending this year. Has anyone been on other boards and seen postings from people who are not on Special Ops, that are going? Last year from TV.Com I knew that the Aussies were going and that they really wanted Bert (they got him ;D). But I have not really been aware this year of other board posters who don't post here. (just noticed on NCIS CBS Yahoo that Liz and Christina are going from that board, are you members here?). Where do you think the other people come from, how do they hear about Fan Fest, or are they all lurkers and not posters? If I could find what I've done with my photo from last years set visit, I'd count up how many people went on the set visit, but it was more than 14/16.
Looks like Rick will have to do the auctioneer job again this year, just noticed this on the FF web page.
"Jade will be unable to join us due to a professional commitment. Jade sends his best wishes."

Shoot! I was so excited about seeing him.
I believe Lizabeth S Tucker (I've seen her on ff.net under that name) from the CBS list is coming.
Question - is there a grocery store near the hotel, if you want to run out and grab munchies or not?
And - when do you book your shuttle? Do you wait till you get there or is it smarter to reserve ahead of time? And then when do you contact the hotel, or does the hotel always have a bus every half hour because they know they'll be getting a lot of people through that?

What do you mean by "munchies"? There was a little shop in the foyer, where I got a plug adapter, they sold a variety of things, chocolate, gum, sweets, postcards, mementos, aspirin etc. Food wise there was a little cafe bit, for sandwiches, coffee, soft drinks etc. Water and fizzy drink dispensers on most floors near the ice making machine. I did not venture out near the hotel, but most reviews don't advise it, and I did not really notice any nearby shops from the car/bus. I know a group went to a mall, but by car. Anyone else know anything?
Shuttle, I just waited outside the airport door, you pay when you reach the end, they had machines, that in theory you could feed your dollars into, get the ticket and then pass out, but most people ended up at a window buying it. It was probably a $ cheaper to get a return ticket, but it is cheap anyway. There is a phone outside with the number of the hotel, so take some change, (unless you have a mobile/cell phone of course, in which case maybe store it before going (818) 997 7676) phone and they come and get you. It seems from my experience of US airports that they often have little help desks for visitors to ask questions, very friendly people who want to help you. Heathrow please take note!!!!

There's nothing within what most people would consider walking distance, as I recall. In fact, last year I was appalled at the utter lack of anything around that hotel other than airport and light industrial. As mcHnelson said, there is a snack/sandwich/coffee bar in the lobby, as well as the little shop that sells postcards, magazines, and stuff like that. Anybody needs to make store runs, lemme know. And I'll try to remember to locate nearby stores on my way there Thursday. "Munchies" are snack foods, sometimes even nutritious (fresh fruits and veggies). I think it derives from the '60s drug-culture reference, wherein "munchies" means the need/desire to munch on foods. (Marijuana is notorious for causing the munchies.) (or so I've been told )

I'll check in at the Airtel Hotel Wednesday around 8.30 pm. Hope we'll have a great time.
Now we are already 15 from this board going to the FanFest. May we'll see us there.
Best Shannon

I hope that everyone has a safe trip and a wonderful time! Hopefully, everyone that is able to go will come back and give us details about their trip. Can't wait to hear how it goes. Maybe I will be able to go next year!
