I saw this as a good to almost very good standalone episode. A little "soapboxy" or exposition heavy regarding battered women, but hard to get around that to a point.
What I really liked was the "competence porn". As dijassaid, they didn't seem to need Gibbs, and were a well-oiled machine. Tony could bug McGee, but didn't come off looking foolish. That's when I like the show best.
Next week could be interesting - especially with the little CBS puzzle to solve.

I thought that the case and the perp were too predictable to me especially for a February sweeps episode. I was hoping that there would be some kind of twist somewhere but, I liked the bickering in bar between Tony and Ziva and the interactions between the team members.

This episode was shown on Channel 5 in the UK last night. Christina Cox was great in it.
Was I alone in wincing when Tony, of all people, blithely opened an unexpected package? Surely he would never do that after SWALK?

It was McGee's package, but Tony opened it. Well, I thought he did?
