We're getting close to needing a new thread title...
"I shall return!" (apologies to Gen. MacArthur)
" I'm not the cabana boy!" (But we have pix of him as the pool guy ;D )

Okay, so I'm still in that mood after going to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat last week, so I'm probably biased, but what about:
"May I Return To The Beginning?"
And, I finally got down to transcribing Mark's comments on the AFI specials. He commented on only three movies, but here they are:
Hoosiers: That film is certainly about winning. But it’s also about – in the bigger sense – it’s about teaching lessons. In reality, it’s not about winning the big game. It’s about each character’s individual accomplishment during that frame of time.
Chariots of Fire: It totally transported me to a different time. It wasn’t about the most heroic – it was about so many more real issues of human behavior and life.
The Paper Chase: John Houseman was a rough guy but a fair guy. And someone who is not going to take less than he thought you were capable of giving.
I have to agree with him on loving Hoosiers and I want so badly to see Chariots of Fire. I LOVE Olympic stories.
Hey, Wanderer, where did you get that avatar? I love it.

Thanks for the transcription, Meg! Does anyone besides me think his description of John Houseman in "The Paper Chase" sounds alot like Gibbs?

For new thread title;
'The Return of the King' or 'Superman Returns'
Thanks Meg for transcribing the AFI show. You have got to see 'Chariots of Fire', it's a beautiful film, not to mention the music.
As for my avatar, it's a crop from a nice pic that I have of Mark taken at a CBS do. He's wearing a plaid shirt over a t-shirt, very casual, just the way I like him, hee hee.

Thanks very much for the transcription, Meg! I doubt that I'll ever get to see it over here, so it's great to be able to read what Mark said.
Actually, in the light of Mark's relationship with his own father, that character in "The Paper Chase" sounds exactly like Tom Harmon. From the sounds of it Mark had an extremely tough time of it with his father until he got to understand him better later on as an adult.

Never thought of that, but now that you mention it, you're right.
