You are sooooo not the only one to hate the buzzcut. Indeed, was saddened by his loss of some cuteness, but I'm glad he's back. And he could never lose ALL of it, anyway. I would have squealed the first time I saw that (the hair), but I was watching with my parents, and my dad already thinks I'm an insane fangirl. And he gets mad when I get fangirly-er. LOL - TOTALLY understandable. Until recently, I worked at a daycare. Now, whenever someone asks me "Where are we going?" I clap three times and say "Blueberry hill!" or "Benny's barn!" EDIT: McGee does have the tendency to alway dress proper with the suit and tie. Its nice to have him wear a t-shirt and jeans once in a while. I've noticed that when he does dress casual, he's attidude becomes a little more laid-back, but i guess thats what jeans do to u. which is why i always wear them, their jsut so comfortable. The only way he could probably look more comfortable and casual in his apartment is if he wears nothing but jeans and no shirt. Though i sure some of you would like him to lose the pants as well Yes, jeans do, indeed, rock. Although I think he should keep his pants on - this time of the year, we don't want poor little Timmy to get cold!

a couple things come to mind when i see tis pic from driven... 1. McGee's really enjoying himself even though it was an accident causd by Tony. This is one red light situation he enjoys. 2. I always knew Ziva had a thing for McGee, what with all the "yellow light" moments they had, it was only a matter of time before she stepped it up a notch. 3. Something tells me Tony might say "First rug burns, (reference to 'boxed in') now gear shift bruises, you guys really dont care for rule 12 that much do you?" 4. If Abby was jealous before, i like to see her when she sees this!!!

Has anyone ever written a McGee bio? I know there's one linked to this site for Gibbs but I need one for McGee for something I'm writing I have been trying to compose one. There is a McGee character summary on my fanfic profile page: www.fanfiction.net/u/1109354/With references to my tv.com blogs where I cover, in a series of blogs, season1-4 McGee plus separate bits on his apartment, age, education, hobbies etc physical stuff clothing etc. (I think there are 11 blogs in all) www.tv.com/users/OzGeek_40/history.php?action=blogThese are still works in progress as I haven't got all of season 3 lying around. And I also found the start of a bio on livejournal which I updated: community.livejournal.com/ncis_world/2320.htmlI'd love to hear of some more. Which reminds me - is the 'junior' year the first? He was 18 as a junior in MIT but someone else has said 16 when he started at MIT. We should really get one place and dump everything there.

Junior year is third, and you ROCK with that info! When I have a chapter written I'll share it.
Any interest in Beta'ing for me?

Junior year is third, and you ROCK with that info! When I have a chapter written I'll share it. Any interest in Beta'ing for me? Happy to beta though we're going away for christmas and new year. Give me a PM when you're ready. You can see how I write by the link to my stories on my fanfic page. I'm just a litttttle crazy, so be warned. You have reminded me I have to update a bit more on those profiles. Could anyone help me sort out the age bit. Here is the relevant info: McGee was 18 when he was a junior in MIT (Conspiracy Theory). If I go by Australian degree lengths (which may be completely different to US ones): He has a Masters from MIT (Sub Rosa)- in Australian that's 4 years. I assume contains the year of independant study in advance string theory (Red Cell) is the same as our masters year. Then he has BS from John Hopkins (3 years here but you can shorten by a year it if they give you extra credit for the previous degree) so say 6-7 years years in higher education so we are already around 24-25. The FLETC (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center - caught on tape) course seems quite short and he was probably already at Norfolk when he did it. Now there are some bits I don't know. He was stationed at Norfolk for a while, long enough to meet people and know the local night club BUT he may have been put through his second degree by his employer, our place does that. If I assume he did all his degrees (24-25), then joined Norfolk, stayed a year (25-26) and then joined Gibb's team then 3 years down the track (season 4) makes him 28-29. About the same age as the actor who plays him (Birthday November 15, 1977: exactly one day younger than the guy who plays Jimmy). What a co-incidence. So if Junior is the third year (why is it called junior?) then he was 16 when he started then that brings down my age estimate by 2 years IF the masters is 4 years and the BS is 3. Any American's out there who can help me out with the college system.

This is a totally stupid question (I haven't been on these boards in, like A YEAR) but how will I know I have my clone? Please, don't laugh. I got a 75% on my stupid test. That means I'm 75% stupid. Or 25% smart. ;D Eileen EDIT: While we're on the subject of fan fictions, I'm writing a McGee/OC story, and was wondering whether anyone was interested in beta'ing... it's still only in the first stages (i.e. only had 2 chapters) but I'd still like an initial opinion. My OC's not a Mary Sue, though, I swear.

If you're listed, he's either on his way or he's outside your door straightening his shirt and combing his eyebrows with a lick and a finger, LOL! Also, just a word of warning, the pic in your signature space may have to be made smaller or shorter. There are size limits for the sig lines for technical reasons. If you leave it too long the Mods will let you hear about it! The thread regarding this can be found here: ncisspecialops.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=newbies&action=display&thread=1149033953

I think we should all pitch in and get McGee one of these: www.thev1chair.com/blackwidow/BlackWidow2.jpg(I had the image showing but it was huge so maybe just click on it) The seat is from a Porsche 996. In regards to his education I can't recall when they said he was 18 and a junior at MIT, I wonder if it was serious or if they were just making a point that he was a bright kid. (Edited to add, I just went and checked it out, it would seem he was serious when he said it so I think it's an issue of continuity with the writers. They most certainly meant as an undergrad or he would have finished his BS at JH at the age of 15, meaning he started it at 11. Probably not. College in the states usually starts at the age of 18 with freshman year, then sophmore, then junior and then senior. He'd have been 21 or 22 when he left John Hopkins with his BS. He'd have to apply for a Masters program after that MIT masters program info has this to say: General Requirements The master's degree generally requires a minimum of one academic year of study, the engineer's degree two years, and the doctoral degree three or more years beyond a baccalaureate degree in the same field. Residency All MIT graduate degree programs have residency requirements, which reflect academic terms (excluding summer). Minimum residency requirements are: Degree Academic terms required Ph.D. 4 Sc.D. 4 Engineer's Degree 2 M.Arch. 4 S.M.Arch.S. 4 M.B.A. 3 M.C.P. 3 M.Eng. 1 S.M. 1 so depending on what his masters is in...

Wow, thanks for the education info. I am now going to sit down and do the calculations.
The reference to being 18 in junior year was not a joke. It was at the beginning scene of Conspiracy Theory (season 2) when Tony was doing exercises because a blonde with 'headlights' had said she didn't go out with guys over thirty. She was a junior. Kate estimated her age at about 20 and McGee said 'Not necessarily, I was 18 when I was a Junior at MIT'.
He has a Masters in Biomedical Engineering from MIT (Sub Rosa)with a year of independant studies in advance string theory (Red Cell) also from MIT (I assumed this was the masters topic) and he was 18 when a junior at MIT. He also has a BS in Computer Forensics from John Hopkins (Sub Rosa).
I assumed he did the BS at JH AFTER the masters at MIT. So he starts at 16 at MIT, does up to Masters - so now he's 20. Then does the JH BS 4 years, makes him 24 when he finishes.
So maybe 24-25 when he hits Norfolk. Then he stays at Norfolk for about a year (Tony says he's still very green in Sub Rosa) so 25-26 in season 1 -> 28-29 by season 4.
Any advances on this?

Okay, I've given this WAY too much thought and I think I've figured it out.
McGee did his undergrad work and his grad work at MIT thus ending up with his MEBE (Masters Biological Engineering) from there. He could have done this in 5 years, even with the year of independent study. So he would have left MIT with his MEBE at the age of 20, assuming he was 18 when he was a junior and his birthday is early in the academic year.
So far we're together on the grad date but then if he goes back to JH for the BS he's already met most of the requirements for core classes (the non-majors crap like english lit and history and whatnot) so he can bang out that BS in one or two years which makes him roughly 22 when he leaves there.

I too have wasted far too much time on this but it's my last day of work for the year and it's HOT (31 C : 88 F at 7am) so I don't care. I was going to ask about what we term 'credit' (where the university acknowleges you have already passed certain courses previously) but I couldn't see any overlap in the courses. I didn't know you guys have to do non-core subjects. I went to Sydney uni where you only do the relevant courses - ie you don't do non-majors, but my husband went to Uni of NSW where they do. We also don't know if he went straight from MIT to JH. He might have taken a year off or started working somewhere before he went back. Note he cleaned porta pottis between his freshman and sophamore years (hottest summer on record), now at least I know when that is. At best we can lower bound his age at 23 in season 1 (he had spent some time at Norfolk, enough time to get a car space (SWAK) and know the night life (Pop Life) , so lower bound at 26 in season 4.
