Gibbsgirl is busy up to her eyebrows - so i'm going to post lines for February Challenge.
"It's Valentine's Day, Boss!"
and
"Does a bear sit in the woods?"
you can pick and choose as to who says these lines and in what order you want to put them. i know ziva says the last line above on the show - i still crack up everytime i think about it!
get those fingers limbered up and lets see some challenge stories. you've had a month [since we skipped Jan.] to rest and should be raring to go.

The Challenge Duo have your March Challenge lines! [on time! can you believe it?!]
Opening Line
He cautiously leaned his head around the doorframe.
Closing Line
Abby was dressed all in green.
Yes, I was thinking of St. Paddy's day when I came up with my line. Have fun!

One idea for a challenge, take the closing line of an actual NCIS episode and make it an opening line for a fanfic - but the fanfic cannot have anything to do with the plot of the episode.

The best example I can give is the line "Just trying to help you convince Al-Quaeda". But the story cannot have anything to do with Ari.

Ack! I know i started off with the April challange. But can i use the last line of the May challange to finish my April one?!? I mean i kinda went off in a derection i wasnt expecting lol don't you hate when that happens? the characters are supposed to do what you want them to, but sometimes they have minds of their own and we have to follow them. your first option, i think, would be to try to end a chapter with the original april challenge line. then try to find some way to start your next chapter with the new may line - and by the end of may, end whatever chapter you're on with the other may line. if you don't think you can do that, could you include all four lines in your current saga ending with a may line. then you could say it was a combo april/may challenge story. just my thoughts. GG, what do you think?

Hm... I don't know that I've ever had anyone ask to combine challenges before. Interesting. Usually my stuff just gets hopelessly long and out of control. Yeah, I think jo's got a good idea... try and break it up in to two chapters, and see if you can work in the extra lines as the end of one/beginning of the other. That sounds like the smartest move to me. After all, they're challenges for a reason!

It's time again - for the June Challenge.
Your lines:
opening line Bullet holes riddled the ceiling.
closing line "You said he was wearing what?"
Loosen up those typing fingers and lets see some response to the Challenge this month.

It's time for the July Challenge. [past time really. but no one's yelled at us yet.]
Your lines:
opening line "Something smells really bad."
closing line "So, wanna go out for dinner with me?"
Responses have been ... well... actually... Meg was the only one to respond to the June 2006 challenge. If y'all are more interested in writing your own fics, we should probably discontinue the Challenge thread.
I believe the original format was this: You use the lines we give you and it has to be no more than 500 words.
I love the "epics" Gigi, Meg and the rest of you write!! I'm just saying the Challenge thread had some rules in the beginning - which we seem to have fallen away from.
I know we took a vote - and everyone wanted the Challenges to continue. However, enough of you have your own threads going now that we don't have to worry about not having something "NCISish" to read - to get us thru the summer.
Let me know if you want to continue doing the challenges. I really enjoy them. But there's no sense taking up board space if we don't have many people interested...
