Wow! And I say again -- WOW!!! Kensi totally rocked last night.
And NO -- I'm still not getting a romantic vibe from Kensi/Deeks. To me, the show seems to be exploring partners and how they deal with each other. Callen/Sam are seasoned professionals, they've been a team for a long time now -- and they're men. Kensi/Deeks don't have any of that working for them. To me, Kensi never really had a "real" partner -- sometimes she was with Dom [but he stayed at the Ops center with Eric most of the time] and sometimes with Nate, but... not really partners. And Deeks seems to have done a lot of undercover -- alone. Sure, they both work with the team, but a partner is much more ... intimate. [and I don't mean in a sexy way.] So this partner thing is pretty new to both of them. And the fact that they are of the opposite sex provides a few ... kinks ... that Callen/Sam don't have to deal with. Does Deeks think Kensi's hot? Well, he'd be stupid if he didn't, wouldn't he? But as he said repeatedly last night: "She's my partner. " There's a different kind of emotion that attaches to a partner. And he's not the only one that worries about her - Sam and Callen are always looking out for her. The fact that she's a woman and they are all gentlemen - in the truest sense of the word -- is something Kensi will always have to deal with.
Remember last week when they when they were talking about who would break? Sam and Callen agreed Kensi would be the one to break. Then this week, King kills the kid right in front of her... She seemed so vulnerable... I wonder if they're leading up to something?
One of my favorite lines last night was Eric when he said he talked Kensi thru breaking in -- We get none of the glory. Hetty makes a sound. Eric: But that's okay. I love my job. *lol*
The ending was neat. Callen/Sam heading out to eat. Deeks showing up with food and drink at Kensi's.
NO NEW SHOW NEXT WEEK?! I'm already feeling withdrawal pains!!

Great episode. I love the non-stop action. And the character interaction, of course.
I loved the "offensive" comment -- it was good -- but "M-O-U-S-E" is still my favorite Deeks quote. I had to actually stop and think about WHAT he was spelling -- and then burst out laughing. However, the funniest moment is now the shooting of Hetty. I'm still not sure if that was an accident or intentional. He got that sparkle in his eye and that little boy grin on his face... Too funny! Loved the trampoline scene, too.
Everyone seems to know that Hetty is prepping Deeks to be an agent -- except Deeks. *lol*
I was so glad the Dad wasn't involved. And Kensi in the fountain -- GO KENSI!! And Deeks had her back [and Dad in tow]. Excellent.
Callen and Sam running after the bad guys brought back memories of Colby on Numb3rs. Run Colby run!!! *lol*
Can't wait for next week. A Kensi-centric epi!!

9.5. Because it was MW's. And because I loved the scene of the 4 of them [Abby, McGee, Ziva and Tony] in Abby's lab.

Yay Deeks! He will live to annoy another day. *lol* He's also my hero. I knew he'd not stay in that bed once he figured out what was going on. I was SOOO hoping we'd get to see Sam's Lessons On Being An Agent. Seems unfair that G got to watch and we didn't. "If I get shot again, you all better be crying." Sam may not have cried when G got shot ["Where's the love?"], but he sounded plenty worried and upset. *lol* Kensi, of course, rocked as always. I love how she is such a strong and capable woman -- without being made to seem like a comic book super hero. I also love how they show us her conflicting emotions -- about herself, her job and Deeks. She's a real person. I do think the characters on this show are - for the most part - written better than NCIS in that they are more consistent. Each person has their own personal characteristics that don't change from show to show. Sure, Dom and Nate were exceptions to that. But Dom's gone now; and Nate has been relegated to guest star status and they're "upgrading" his character. Hetty. What can I say? Even Chris O. said on the S1 dvds - she's got this Yoda-like quality... She's probably the most unbelievable -- but she MAKES you believe. Or she makes ME believe, anyway. Macy was good, but I think the show would have been a lot more like the original if she had stayed. To me, she came off as a female Gibbs. While it probably would have still been good, and I would have watched it, I love what the show has become. Hetty is ... Hetty. Unique. Mysterious. Omniscient.

Well I havent seen the original taking of Pelham 123 yet so I don't know how that differs from the remake that just came out. The remake featured an excon/disgraced former wall street guy that used an act of terrorism to short stocks and make millions. As soon as they revealed that a disgraced wall street guy had taken a nuke I knew that's the plot they were using. So most of my hatred comes from the fact that the team didn't think of it, had they done this plot on NCIS, Tony would have course pointed out the movie reference, both paying homage to the inspiration for the plot and providing a narrative means for the team to figure it out. That's true. Tony would have noticed the likeness to the movie and given them a play by play as to how it went down in the movie. However, I think one of the biggest points Shane's been trying to make is the DIFFERENCES between these two shows and their characters. I really can't see any of the 4 agents watching many movies. And it would seem out of character - to me - for one of them to bring up a movie plot in comparison to whatever they're working on. I could see Eric doing it. And Hetty. As a matter of fact, she's the one I would expect to hear it from. Along with mentioning the fact that she knew the author of the original book or the director/one of the actors from the original movie. Hetty knows everyone/everything! As you know, the G/S and K/D moments are what I look forward to. The plot/storyline is really secondary to me. I love the humor and the interaction between these characters. But I DO agree about Nate. Didn't his cover get blown at the prison? And didn't they get all the info they needed from the prison anyway? So where is Nate NOW? Altho I wouldn't mind if they keep his whereabouts secret if that means he's gonna pop up in a new case as a guest star again. I think I'd even like that. I'd just like to KNOW that's what's happening. I'd like it even better if G or Kensi would ask Hetty where he is - and Hetty would say: He's working. I'm sure you'll be seeing him again... I also think it's time for a Renko guest app. We haven't seen him yet this year, have we?

*lol* I think it's one of my favorites. I've not seen the Pelham movie, so there was no comparison for me. And I agree with Belinda. To me, it's all about the characters. The plot is just a foil to show them off in my book. Speaking of books, I'm a writer and I have a book on plot that states there are only a few plot lines -- I'm thinking it said 4 or 6. The goal of the writer is to take that plot and make it their own. Not everyone is successful. Like I said, I haven't seen the movie, so it was all new to me. And I only watch NCIS, NCIS:LA ,Hawaii 5-O, Leverage and Rizzoli & Isles. I loved the Deeks/Kensi interaction, Sam/Callen and even Eric/Nell. Hetty is always a treat! Can't wait till next week. I'm gonna worry about Deeks all weekend.
