To be honest, I found this finale more exciting than regular NCIS's.
My fave line was when Deeks said he'd turn in his badge too, if he could. Vance: I know.
I also liked Hetty's "Bugger!" at the very beginning. So glad to know she'll be back next season.
Big Callen episode. Do you think he really IS who they think he is? I'm beginning to. And Hetty. Is she really related to those people? Or by "family,"did she mean a group? Hmmm. Is Hetty related to Callen? Has she always known who he is? Wow! Lots of questions.
I'm also wondering if this "mission" will cause Deeks to turn in his LAPD badge and join NCIS.
You could almost see their minds working -- as they remembered the last things Hetty said to them before she disappeared.
Nell is growing on me. I still think she is excess -- Eric did all this before she came along and he still could. I would prefer to see Nate come back -- his position seems more necessary than an extra techie to me. But I am liking Nell's character more and more. [She still looks about 12 years old, tho.]

9.5 I thought it was great -- sat on the edge of my seat thru most of it. [Of course, part of that was because there were kids in the house and I was having a hard time hearing...]

No one's posted here yet? Really?! I thought this was extremely well done. It had a much darker vibe than usual -- and Deeks was fantastic.
Loved the guy who played Ray.
Loved Deeks talk with Hetty after the case was solved.
I was glad they ended the ep with them joking around like they usually do. Most of the show was so dark ... it was good to walk away at the end laughing.
Next week: Hetty?! No!!!!

You mean those lifelike masks? I think the idea is cool, but here's my problem with them. I can see making them so thin and responsive to muscle movement that the mask adheres so closely it looks like second skin, but the whole facial structure thing gets in my way. Unless the person wearing the mask had the same sort of face shape; his skin was as toned (getting older, face seems a little loose to me); etc., etc., it can't possibly look exactly like the person being impersonated. That's a good point. I just watched an old Sherlock Holmes movie [ Sherlock Holmes and The Baker Street Irregulars] - and a mask was a big part of the plot. However, when you finally figured that out - and saw the person putting on the mask - they used putty to fill out facial features, etc. Unless a mask is made for a specific person - and the filler is added when the mask is made ... You're such a good writer though - and that's one of the main reasons why. You care enough about your readers to get it right for them. Yep. The scene in interrogation really bugs me, too. That was sooo unprofessional of both of them. After the first time he broke in on her, she should have asked to speak to him outside. If he refused - Gibbs? You know he would refuse! - she should've walked out and called Vance. Running to Daddy? Maybe. But Vance specifically said she was lead agent on this -- and regardless of how big she talks, EJ cannot face down Gibbs alone. As I said in an earlier post - I think she was supposed to come across as a strong woman, but I feel the writer's have not portrayed her as such.

Okay. Everyone back in your corners. ;D
The point of a fanboard is that we all like the show or someone on the show or something about the show. That's why we're here. However, that doesn't mean we're all going to have the same opinion about everything and/or everyone on the show. I live with my sister - and we don't always agree about everything. How can we expect to agree on everything when we're such a big "family" from all over the world? The point of a discussion thread is to ... discuss. We're not here to change minds -- just to share our thoughts and opinions. Key word here: OPINIONS. Lelu and I don't agree 100% about Gibbs. The way they've written him has totally turned her off - and I believe she has made many valid points -- but that doesn't change the fact that I still like him. A lot. *lol* Lelu does not think I'm stupid for liking him - she does not argue with me about it. Neither do I argue with her, trying to make her change her mind.
There's nothing wrong with stating that you disagree with someone else's opinion. That's part of the discussion process, in my opinion. But continuing to argue that YOU are right and someone else is wrong because they don't share your opinion ... that's just a pain in the patootie. We need to share our thoughts -- and not attack someone when their "thoughts" are different from ours. Okay?
Do I sound like Pollyanna?
Now, I think it's time to get back to discussing the episode. And I STILL love the face/mask idea...

LOL You aren't going to like anyone that challenges the sainted Gibbs, I happen to like strong women. Gibbs acts like an a** and complete jerk he gets a pass, a woman being a strong and willing to be a biatch at times is an annoying twit PoTato PotAto. kettle black. name your cliche' ;D You have a valid point - some people defend Gibbs no matter what he does. I just don't see EJ as a "strong woman." I think she's SUPPOSED to be. I just think the writer's have done an extremely bad job of portraying her as such. Even with Tony she acts more like a teenager with her boyfriend than an equal. EJ is suffering from what I call the "Kate Syndrome." The writers have fallen down on the job of getting across to us [the viewers] who she is really supposed to be. They did it all the time with Kate.

... maybe I could take her seriously if she showed some maturity and wasn't written like some little girl in junior high... What a wonderful description of EJ!! And you've hit the nail on the head -- if she ACTED like a professional mature lead agent, I would be more upset about the way Gibbs' treats her. I'm not condoning his behavior, but there's a part of me that says she asks for it...

... "great impact on the show" really means how this will all play out in the finale story arc. Not that it is someone with great personal significance to either the characters or us (ie no Fornell or etc.)... I don't think we can positively say that it won't be someone with "great personal significance" - but I admit I like your theory that it just means it's significant to the finale story arc. These people LOVE to make a play on words and totally get us going... Personally -- I was fascinated with the face mask... But I think we've already established that I'm very simple and easily entertained. ;D

9-1/2. It has to be very special to get a 10 from me -- I think I've only voted 10 once in all the years of voting...
But I thought this was a VERY GOOD episode. Things are really getting stirred up -- I'm looking forward to a very very good season finale. I'm not usually a fan of story arcs that are prolonged -- but this one looks to be VERRRRRYYYYY INTERESTING...
Looking forward to more of Enrique [Ray] -- and can't wait to see Alimi Ballard!!
EJ -- not impressive to me. I agree with the "little girl" view. She does not strike me a grown woman standing up to Gibbs -- more along the lines of a teenager standing up to her dad. I see no leadership qualities in her so far -- another reason I can't wait for her team to show up. Maybe then we'll see if she is really capable of being a leader.
I miss Paula Cassiday [Cassidy?]. She was a strong independent woman - stood up to Gibbs and he respected her for it. She was also a good match for Tony, I thought...
