“Need to Know” – Top-secret clearance from a Naval research laboratory is jeopardized when the murder of a Chief Petty Officer is connected to an international arms dealer. Meanwhile, Probationary Agent Ned Dorneget tries to butter up Gibbs in hopes of joining the team, on NCIS, Tuesday, Feb. 28 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Hmmm looks like a straight out crime story which is ok by me as long as it has no silly absurd plot twist like a anti gang activist stealing guns to arm kids I'll be happy ;D

I'm really looking forward to this episode - always like Gibbs being tough. Seems the guy knows something they really "need to know" ;D.
Although I also like Gibbs being sensitive, caring, etc. - ok, ok I like Gibbs doesn't matter in which mood he is.

Like it solid B grade this is one of those mid season episodes with hanging questions to be answered later in the season . The ending with Gibbs meeting the gun dealer let free was very (early original series ) Five 0 ish when McGarrett let Wo Fat go under orders , but we know it not the last time these two will square off.

Liked the episode very much - reminded me a bit of former seasons with
- lots of chemistry within the team,
- some jokes,
- Tony being interested in women,
- we saw what makes Ziva nervous (don't threat her with a gun, just tell her she has to hold a speech ;D),
- Ducky being "angry" about Gibbs interrogation style (I liked it very much )
- some open questions about future episodes

According the latest TV Guide magazine, the final #s for NCIS "Need to Know" was 21.7 million
