just thought i'd pass this on.
some of our local boys who are overseas [in the war] wrote home saying they miss their Starbucks coffee... some of the local people got together and asked Starbucks if they could help in some way - discounts or whatever - so we could send Starbucks to our boys.
Starbucks refused to help in any way, shape or form because they do not believe in the war and do not want to be affiliated with it in any way.
Now, i personally believe Starbucks has the right to feel however they want to feel about the war - and anything else - but i don't like the fact that they refused to help. i mean, they could have said - as they did - that they believe this war is wrong, but still made some sort of effort to help get coffee to the troops. i don't believe everyone who's over there necessarily believes the war is RIGHT, but they are doing their job as they see it. anyway, the locals here are boycotting Starbucks. which isn't a good thing for Starbucks because rumor has it they're buying the old Taco Bell building here in town with plans to open soon ... not being a big coffee drinker, it won't really affect me. when i do get coffee, i usually get it from the gas stations [hazelnut and english toffee are my faves]. we already have a coffee shop run by locals who are very well liked, so i don't know that a Starbucks is gonna go over well here anyway. we're not exactly a Starbucks kind of town.

This is probably not the best place to discuss the war... Every one has feelings and they run very high for the most part. Whether you're pro or con it doesn't matter, if you feel the need to say something please keep it to off topics. We have a bomb squad to pick up thing there if it gets out of hand. Which it won't because I know you guys are able to express an opinion with out malice.

I'm going to try not to voice my opinion on the Iraqi War considering I feel very strongly the way I do. That being said, why not just get money and buy the coffee for the soliders? Sending Starbucks through the mail is not illegal. EDIT: Sorry if this offends anyone. If you feel this should be moved mods, feel free.

Sorry to get back OT again, but I had to share this!
I just heard on the news that Starbucks is going to send 50 thousand lbs. (I think) of coffee to Iraq, based on requests from servicemen and community members. Guess they finally figured out their priorities, jo!
To make this (sort of) on-topic, I don't think Gibbs drinks Starbucks. Several people (not here, on ff.net) seem to think he does, but you can tell that the label on his drink cups is not from Starbucks. Yes, I look.

Guys, I'm hurt... I post two more of my favorite pics and all you can talk about is the coffee... Granted the coffee pic is good, I'm gonna go get me some in a minute myself. Then I'm coming back to stare into those gorgeous eyes, in that oh-so-handsome face and wish that I could wrap myself around that hot body... You can have the coffee!

Oh, you wanted us to talk about those pics? I thought we were just suposed to drool and think lustful thoughts. It would distract us from looking at them if we talked about them.

Weren't we on a road trip? Aren't we still on a road trip? Last thing I remember is Puerto Rican bathing suits and suntan lotion. And Gibbs. Of course. We've only got a few more days! Better enjoy it him while we can!

Yes, we are still on a road trip, but someone has been hogging Gibbs so much that none of us have seen him lately. Time to share, Gibbsgirl!

I'm gonna go see if I can get the bartender to make another one... mmm... iced coffee cocktails, evil plot twists and days with Gibbs... I'm happy!
