I'm not sure I understood your position. What is going on? What situation? I never watch network new or TV so... ?

Uneven but acceptable. The girl school subplot... totally stinky. As I have said before I am not happy with the demonization of Muslims as nut job terrorists. One could say the same about clinic bombing doctor murdering fundamentalist Christians

Yeah I agree the last few Ncis two part episodes start with a great part I and then (the producers/writers) lose there nerve and end with a lame very chicken, contrived ending for part II (i.e. last years season opener ending the Mexican drug cartel story). I think unfortunately the producers and writing staff have gotten lazy and find it easier to ossify the characters into easy to write stereotypes. Gibbs the bill bad ass retired Marine a grumpy misanthrope always grieving for his 1st wife, Abby the super competent crime lab girl who' s a Gothic power dork, Mcgee the the uber science /computer hacker nerd who's destined to die alone in apartment slumped over a computer playing world of warcraft 15 at the age of 75. Tony the great investigator who's the class clown and like Gibbs will die alone because he's still pinning for two unavailable women in his life Jean Marie and Ziva . The one think lately that really annoys about NCIS is none of the major characters are allowed to experience any kind of personal happiness for even a whole episode (Ducky the latest victim) . I hope the second part of this episode is a good as part one and we see ending that isn't rushed or contrived or better yet open ended? We actually agree, amazing Fist bump

It's hard to evaluate a 2 parter on the 1st part alone. I expect part 2 to be full of Gibbs being marine badass which will to my mind distract from the first part. I think part 1 may be the best episode in several years. That said, no episode is perfect and I understand the need to "lighten" the load by using Tony as comic relief. It just felt flat to me.
It's odd that this episode came now, given the disturbing news out of Dover concerning the last disposition of remains of our service people.
They deserve so much more than we can ever repay.

I thought using Tony as comic relief was very flat, otherwise a very watchable episode.

Wooden, dull, waste of Lily Tomlin. Kept my interest for 30 full seconds.

Hackneyed full of improbable coincidences, I gave it a 4 because of the last 90 seconds. Maybe we'll get a lot more Tony next season.

Now, I think it's time to get back to discussing the episode. And I STILL love the face/mask idea... You mean those lifelike masks? I think the idea is cool, but here's my problem with them. I can see making them so thin and responsive to muscle movement that the mask adheres so closely it looks like second skin, but the whole facial structure thing gets in my way. Unless the person wearing the mask had the same sort of face shape; his skin was as toned (getting older, face seems a little loose to me); etc., etc., it can't possibly look exactly like the person being impersonated. I know, too logical. The reason why I stopped writing is I kept questioning my facts, anticipating questions from readers, and I pretty much froze my muse in place. I think too much. (And even though I blame Vance for setting the two up, and both Gibbs and EJ for unprofessional behavior, I blame Gibbs more because I love him and expect more from him). Those were my thoughts exactly about the face mask. You can't change the facial structure of the person beneath the mask so unless they have almost the same facial structure which is what made me laugh. It reminded me of that Nick Cage, John Revolting (I mean Travolta) movie Faceoff which was so absurd it was an unintended comedy

Okay. Everyone back in your corners. ;D The point of a fanboard is that we all like the show or someone on the show or something about the show. That's why we're here. However, that doesn't mean we're all going to have the same opinion about everything and/or everyone on the show. I live with my sister - and we don't always agree about everything. How can we expect to agree on everything when we're such a big "family" from all over the world? The point of a discussion thread is to ... discuss. We're not here to change minds -- just to share our thoughts and opinions. Key word here: OPINIONS. Lelu and I don't agree 100% about Gibbs. The way they've written him has totally turned her off - and I believe she has made many valid points -- but that doesn't change the fact that I still like him. A lot. *lol* Lelu does not think I'm stupid for liking him - she does not argue with me about it. Neither do I argue with her, trying to make her change her mind. There's nothing wrong with stating that you disagree with someone else's opinion. That's part of the discussion process, in my opinion. But continuing to argue that YOU are right and someone else is wrong because they don't share your opinion ... that's just a pain in the patootie. We need to share our thoughts -- and not attack someone when their "thoughts" are different from ours. Okay? Do I sound like Pollyanna? Now, I think it's time to get back to discussing the episode. And I STILL love the face/mask idea... Thanks Jo! Well said. Face/mask, stinky LOL

Well guess what..I stopped coming here for a long time becasue it was just plain down right rude and obnoxious and negative...you just lost me as visitor and member...please remove my information... Bye Bye In all your travels I hope you never run into an actual angry person. BTW how do you deduce anger in one sentence? Just curious.
