No, not a chance, I think. Remember: he hasn't gone back to the Marine rice-bowl cut. No way is he back to normal, whatever "normal" is for Gibbs. They're too careful: there are even references to prior eps in scripts, so I don't think there are very many throwaway situations/lines in these eps. There's just too much left unresolved so far, and keep in mind that DPB himself said that repercussions from last season will resonate in this one. Also keep in mind that the last "Gibbs slap" by Gibbs was at the elevator in "Shalom," and it hasn't been seen since. That alone should tell someone that things aren't back to "normal." No, there's a lot of story to be told over the next 19 eps. Darla I certainly hope you're right about this. Unfortunately, the writers often leave issues unresolved - we never know the answer [i.e. does everyone know about: ziva/ari; gibbs' family? seems like it .]. i don't want this to be one of those issues. i'm wondering just how much gibbs will return to normal. i really miss the 'gibbslap' myself. it seems to me he is now treating mcgee like he used to treat tony. we know he and ducky aren't getting along - but his relationship with tony has changed, too. this is just me, but i think he thinks tony should get his own team - he's already said that he knows tony is ready. it's up to tony now. i definitely don't want to see that happen - but i can't think of a way they can resolve this. good thing i'm not writing the storyline then, isn't it?

great episode. you've mentioned all the funny lines, so i won't repeat. except for abby's: 'I should come up here more often!' at the end of the show. she looked so cute standing there holding the water bottle.
my one concern is how everyone was all: the old gibbs is back since he shaved off the mustache. like his memory problems are all gone. surely they aren't going to end that plotline in this fashion?!
i thought it was neat how gibbs went to jen because he was afraid he was missing something with the fiancees. however, he only went to her because he and ducky seem to be on the outs - and i hate that. i want that little storyline to get worked out SOON.

i think undershirts are part of the past - just like women's slips. i still wear one, but the girls in my Sunday school class are like: "what's a slip?" ;D

another 9.5. mostly because of the finishing up of the tony/j storyline. [i'm glad they did, tho.] i don't think i voted that high most of last year.

9.5. it would've been a 10 if they had told me how jen's dad's fingerprints were on the glass and where jeanne went.
i hope they are planning to use her again - to keep the tony angst going. because if this is how they're ending his involvement with her - and we never see/hear from her again - i will not be happy with this resolution. however, they were so fantastic with everything else, i'm sure they have more planned with the tony/jeanne storyline.

10 from me. even tho it was mcgee-centric -- and he was great -- everyone got air time and they were fantastic.
i liked tony's line about not understanding why mcgee hadn't told him he had a little sister... the look on ziva's face said she could tell him, but she didn't. LOL
tony, while still his wild and crazy self, has really been shown as more adult this season. i like that.
the book... obviously, everyone's gonna read it now. can't wait to hear more about it.

no one's posted yet? wow!!! i thought this was a super fantastic opening for the second half of the season. not rocket science, but good clean fun with an interesting plotline. lots of pranks and good lines. seeing tony checking out the lady cop gives me hope. [those of you who read the spoilers will know what i'm referring to.] even i knew the programmer - or whatever he was - was involved. he was toooooooo upset and over the top. i'll bet gibbs had an idea, too. he's no dummy. *lol* what's up with ducky? and jen? ? i know some of our other members are great about giving a synopsis of the episode, so i won't even try. all in all, a good show and i'm SO GLAD IT'S BACK!!!!!

9.5 still absolutely wonderful, but not up to the standard the past few eps have shown. i realize this was about gibbs and his daughter's friend, but there didn't seem to be enough of the team in this one.
abby was stellar - as always. "get out of my lab..." too funny.

On another note I enjoyed the Tony/Gibbs interactions in the episode - we haven't had them for a while. I love the dynamic between the two characters. Gibbs brings Tony down to earth while making use of his talents and Tony keeps Gibbs from getting too grim. I've missed that. It was good to see it again. And then you have Gibbs-Tony - McGee. It's funny to see how Tony takes it from Gibbs and turns around and passes it down to McGee. And Mcgee looks up to Tony, who in turn looks up to Gibbs. That is a fun dynamic I'd love to see more of. yes - tony/gibbs are my faves and together they are wonderful. missed seeing tony get a slap on the back of the head in this ep, tho. of course, i was thinking gibbs would have loved to have done it when he called and mcgee got the phone and had to tell him he was with the suspect. as i watched tony with mcgee i thought how much like gibbs tony sounded. i don't even think he really realizes he's doing it. i mean, he knows he's harrassing [sp?] mcgee, but i don't know if he realizes he sounds like gibbs. too funny!

All I can hope for here is that the writers are setting Kate up for a big fall. ...[snip]... The writers are doing such a good job with everyone else, I find it hard to believe that they can't write Kate. Either they don't want to for some reason, which I hope will become apparent, or they have a plan in mind to help transform the character into someone we can understand and perhaps gain some symphathy for. Because last night she was like a, well, bug bite. this is what i've been thinking, too. i love everyone else and how they are written. so it seems to me they are purposely writing kate as she is - but for what reason? i think kip sort of hinted earlier that kate was a work in progress - i mean, that's how they are writing her. she's been with the team 6 or 7 months now, don't you think? [time lines throw me sometimes in tv shows] so she's still adjusting - and i do think, especially in their type of work, it might take a while to adjust to a new job. i know from experience it can take quite a while to adjust when you change jobs. and while we think of the jobs as similar, i know that i don't really know how similar the SS and NCIS are. there are some things i thought she would've known from being a secret service agent that she doesn't seem to. SS seemed more like bodyguard/protective type work while NCIS is more investigative. i don't think kate had to "think" quite as much in the SS as she does now. of course that doesn't explain her attitude towards tony - and even gibbs occassionally. i am so dying to see next weeks episode. i really hope our cbs station doesn't decide to do something stupid because of primary elections. i will shoot the tv. [and its not my tv, but i think my neighbor won't mind - she loves this show as much as i do. tho she thinks tony is a jerk. ] i think we'll see tony in whole new light after next weeks ep. could anyone tell where he was laying? and did i see blood? i think i wrote on the other board that i see tony as having a weakness for pretty women. and a lot of people said - no, he just uses his charm with these women for work purposes. well, i have to admit, last night i personally once again saw his penchant for a pretty face [and good legs] as a weakness. not that that makes him a bad person. he is human and has his weakness - maybe that's what the writers want us to see? kate seems to be naive [that's as far as i'm going]; gibbs has a thing about new technology; and tony has a weakness for a pretty face. this is way too long - and a lot of it doesn't belong here probably. i loved this ep - we got to see a lot of everyone. and i personally would love to see mcgee as a pretty regular recurring character. he an tony are fantastic. and i love how gibbs flusters him. leaving now. have a wonderful day!
