doh! Well, hopefully someone can find out. Is there a CBS email to contact? I don't mind going that route if need be. The song was only on for a few seconds, and I should clarify that it was 'middle eastern' sounding, like 'typical' to the style of music for that reigion.. not sure if it was arabic, or persian, or what..

well the song at the very begining was Mas by Kinky. I don't remember any other middle eastern sounding song in there.

Got it! Ok that sounds like it's the regular soundtrack to me. As in the same musicians that perform all the other music for the show. Alias had a ton of stuff like this on there and it was done by the same orchestra that did all the other music for them. Obviously if it was a maintream song like Mas, then that would be different. that wasn't middle eastern music, just plain old regular series music. sorry to disappoint you. If you want Middel Eastern music, let me know and I'll send you links to some sites that I've picked up tunes from.

Well it certainly has that feel to it. I really dig Arabic/Middle Eastern chill/house/groove or whatever you want to call it and have quite a bit of it.
I guess there's really no way to determine what that song was then? Or where I could find songs similar to that (instrumental)?

Y'know what is really funny? Tony buying McGee the best of David Hasselhof - he is unexplicably popular as a singer here, or he was a few years ago, not quite sure how the sales are now Was a good choice of something to bring back from Germany! Having just watched Shalom again, I agree with Ramona, Abby says that Ziva is just like her brother too. Obviously it is now canon that they all know, just we weren't privy to the conversation. Jury's still out on Gibbs' family though. It would be good to actually hear who knows what sometime in an epi. Not holding my breath though

BIG HUG, lakelover . I'm glad someone put that strait. Ever since I heard about those souvenirs from Germany - and I mean Lederhosen are bad enough - I've been contemplating about digging a big hole in the backyard, passing an extension cord and setting myself up in there for at least as long as NCIS runs, which on the other hand I hope will be many years...

Yeah yeah okay But Hasselhof was vaguely popular wasn't he? Not amongst my friends, I have to say, but then there's a vast amount of people who watch Musikantenstadl every Saturday (or the equivalent) and personally I don't know which is worse.... ;D I grew up with Pink Floyd and such stuff.... And you know what's worse than Lederhosen - cuckoo clocks! In this neck of the woods we do at least wear Lederhosen

Regarding the discussion about does Gibbs still have memory loss in that scene with Shepherd, I just remembered something.
There was an article released last year that said Gibbs' injuries would continue into the new season. I'm thinking it's a safe assumption that yes, in fact he does still have amnesia.
I'm guessing that what happened with the picture is Gibbs found it in his stuff like someone said and brought it to ask her about. He remembers that he and Shepherd had some type of previous relationship (remember his flashback on Hiatus 2?) but doesn't remember much about it. When she made the comment he felt too uncomfortable to ask, so he just gave her the photo.
He probably also doesn't remember that she's the one who dumped him with that Dear John letter and just thought since she apparently had some good memories from that time he'd give her the photo as a keepsake.

@ shazp:*makes mental note to give shazp crash course on last 60 years of German pop culture in the near future... * We really DO need to talk, my friend... ;D @ Fette Katze: I share your pain. ;D The "Lederhosen from Düsseldorf" was tough, but the "David Hasselhoff Best of"... I was born right between Cologne and Düsseldorf, trust me, dear NCIS authors, the Lederhosen thing HURT MY BLOODY FEELINGS! ;D

Kölsch? Shoulda been a football, if it's supposed to be 2006 in the series reality.
