This is my take on what could have happened after the episode "Chained" ended. Hope you like it.
TEXT I Liked Him
“I really liked him.” whispered Tony.
“Yeah…yeah I can see that.” replied Gibbs.
*************************
Tony was a wreck. His hands were shaking but he wasn’t sure exactly why. He had shot bad guys before. But for some reason, Jeffrey felt different. There was something about him that Tony identified with. There was innocence about Jeffrey, hidden deep in the voids of his psychotic mind. They had bonded in their time being chained together.
Jeffrey seemed like a normal, everyday guy. Not the murderous type. But Tony knew, from his years of experience, that anyone could be a killer. Tony had sympathized with Jeffrey. Almost trusted him.
They knew that Jeffrey was involved in the theft of the artefacts. Tony had gone undercover to break Jeffrey loose in hopes that he would lead NCIS to the good. What no one knew what that Jeffrey was not only a thief, but also a murderer.
Tony was smart. He knew how to play things. Jeffrey had handed Tony a gun before he was to meet with the buyer. Tony had come clean about being a federal agent. He honestly thought he could convince Jeffrey to turn himself in.
Tony hadn’t anticipated the knife though. As Jeffrey had put the cold blade to Tony’s throat, Tony raised the gun and pulled the trigger. Blood went everywhere. Tony had guessed, by the splatter, that he had hit an artery.
Gibbs had arrived shortly after. It took all Tony’s courage to look up from the gun in his hand and into Gibbs’ eyes.
Tony could tell that Gibbs had been worried about him. That was a nice feeling, even if Gibbs wouldn’t admit he was worried.
Gibbs had sent Tony home saying the debriefing could wait. Tony had gone him and locked the door behind him. There were messages waiting for him. He would listen to those later.
He walked into the bathroom and undressed to take a shower. The warm water felt nice. He hoped he could stay like this forever. He shut the water off and climbed out of the shower. He stood in front of the mirror for the longest time before he shaved.
He felt better. Different somehow. He knew he would never be the same after this. He had been prepared to do anything he could to solve the case. He just hadn’t counted on killing someone.
He walked into his bedroom as he put on his robe. He sat on the edge of his ed and sighed. He wasn’t ready to go back to work. Not yet.
He laid down on his bed and curled up. He tried to sleep, not knowing if he could, or would.
********************
Sleep had finally come for Tony. He awoke to find Charisma had come to see him. He opened his eyes to watch her sleep next to him. He loved her but he wasn’t ready to talk to her about what happened. He had told her that after he had let her know that he was okay. She understood and promised that she would be there for him when he needed her to be.
Tony drifted back to sleep watching Charisma. They were awakened by a loud bang outside the window. Tony grabbed his gun and headed to the window. A car had backfired. That’s all.
Tony went back to the bed and sat down. Charisma wrapped her arms around him and took the gun from his hands. She placed it in the bedside table and wrapped her arms back around Tony’s neck. She felt him start to shake.
For the first time since he pulled the trigger, Tony felt emotions. As Charisma held him, he wept, wishing he could just wipe this whole thing from his memory.
He wept.

This was my first attmept at an NCIS fic. Please review, but be gentle.......
NCIS On Loan
He sat at his desk, buried in paperwork. He hated this part of the job. It always seemed like the paperwork was endless. Why did he always wait so long to finish his reports?
“You’re in early Tony” he heard a voice say. He looked up to see Agent Kaitlyn Todd, attractive ex-Secret Service, standing in front of him.
“I thought I would get some work done before Gibbs got in.”
“Playing Catch-up?”
“What are you doing here so early for Agent Todd?”
“Just going to the gym.” With that she turned and walked away.
He had always found her attractive but there was something about her that had never sit right with him. He just couldn’t put his finger on what it was.
He refocused on the paperwork in front of him. Only one case file left and he was caught up.
An hour later, just as he was finishing his last case file, Agent Gibbs walked in. Late 40s, thrice divorced, hard nosed. Gibbs was a tough boss. And Tony’s mentor. The man was smart. Even though Gibbs was almost always in a bad mood, Tony looked up to him. Gibbs was brilliant and he loved his job. Tony admired that.
“Morning boss.”
“Morning Tony. Seen Agent Todd yet?”
“She was heading to the gym about an hour ago.”
Gibbs nodded and sat at his desk. Tony wondered what was up. He wouldn’t have to wait long to find out.
Kate returned a few minutes later and shortly after her came Agent McGee. “Morning Probie.” said Tony.
“Morning everyone.” replied McGee.
“I am glad that everyone is in this morning. We have a live one,” said Gibbs.
“Shouldn’t that be a dead one,” quipped Tony.
Gibbs just looked at Tony. Even with just a look, Tony knew to shut up.
“A woman was discovered on an army test site. She was buried under a drop site.”
“Was it deliberate?”
“She was still alive Agent Todd.”
Everyone went silent. Tony hated this part of his job. It was always hard when the victim was still alive. Sometimes dead bodies were easier to deal with.
“So are we going boss?” asked Tony.
“She’s at Bethesda. CSU is there and the box she was in is with Abby.”
“So where do we come in Gibbs?” asked Kate.
“We get to find out who she is and why she ended up where she was found.”
“So we’re going to the hospital then?” asked McGee.
“You and Agent Todd are going with me to the site. Tony, you’re going to the hospital to process and identify the victim.”
“OK boss.”
“And you’re gonna have help. An anthropologist named Charisma Ryan.”
“Another newbie boss?”
“She’s technically not working for us, just with us. I’ve known her her whole life.”
‘That could spell trouble’, thought Tony. He was just about to say something when an extremely attractive brunette walked in. She took Tony’s breath away. 5’ 7”, long brown hair, great figure, and these piercing blue eyes. Tony was instantly smitten.
“Morning Charisma,” said Gibbs.
“Morning Gibbs.”
Even her voice was beautiful.
“Everyone. This is Charisma Ryan. Charisma, Kaitlyn Todd, Tim McGee, and Tony DiNozzo.”
“Hello everyone.”
Tony jumped up and extended his hand to her. “Hi. I hear you and I are working together today.”
“Good to hear.”
“Everyone has their assignments. Keep in touch. Let’s go.” said Gibbs.
As the agents left the building, Tony started talking to Charisma.
“So Gibbs tells us he’s known you your whole life.”
“Yes he has.”
“So what’s he like?”
“You probably know him better than anyone. You work with him and see him everyday.”
“I know pretty much nothing about our boss man.”
Charisma gave Tony a crooked smile. “Tell you what. We’ll see how the day goes. If everything goes good, I’ll tell you about Gibbs.”
“Deal.” He smiled at her. Charisma liked his smile. It lit up his eyes.
They climbed into the SUV and headed to the hospital. Tony carried on a conversation while driving.
“So tell me about yourself.”
“I grew up right here in DC. My parents divorced when I was very young and my mother, and I moved to California. My mother remarried a few years later to a LAPD profiler. He was transferred to MPD and stayed there until 6 months before he passed away. I am a 28 year old anthropologist/archaeologist, historian, and photojournalist.”
“Why those subjects?”
“I graduated high school at 16. For a year I backpacked across Europe. I fell in love with history so I went to university. I took history and anthropology---four years crammed into two. Along the way, I also took photojournalism. My anthro professor was a forensic anthropologist. He got me interested in the forensic aspect of everything. So I went back and took my six years of forensics in three years.”
“Wow.” ‘Beautiful and smart’, thought Tony. ‘I don’t stand a chance.’
“So what about you Tony?”
“I attended prep school at Rhode Island Military Academy. Then I went to Ohio State and got my BA degree in Physical Education. I then went to the police academy and spent 2 years in Peoria, then 18 months in Philadelphia and then 22 months in Baltimore. Then here. Been here just about three years.”
“How did you meet Gibbs?"
“I attended a conference talk given by Ducky…..Dr. Mallard, almost 3 years ago.”
“I know Ducky.”
“Right. Anyways, Gibbs talked to me afterwards and gave me his card. Told me I could start Monday if I wanted to. The address on the card was this building. I’ve been here ever since.”
“Do you like working with him?”
“He’s a brilliant man. Scary, but brilliant.”
“You know he’s harmless right?”
“Sometimes,” Tony laughed.
*********************************
They reached the hospital shortly after. They headed inside. They stopped at the nurses station.
“Can I help you?” asked the nurse.
“I’m Tony DiNozzo and this is Charisma Ryan. We’re with NCIS. We’re here to see your Jane Doe. The one found on the Army test base.”
“Room 212.”
“Thanks.” They turned and walked to the elevator. “She’s not too friendly is she?”
Charisma just smiled. They reached the second floor and headed to 212. When they arrived, they went about gathering evidence.
“Tell you what,” said Tony. “You process the victim, I’ll do the other stuff.”
“Ok.”
Tony moved to the closet where her clothes and personal effects were kept. He bagged and tagged everything.
Charisma took the body. She got lots of trace, bagged and tagged, ready for Abby.
They had worked almost an hour in silence before heading back downstairs.
“Abby’s got her work cut out for her,” Tony said.
“Yeah. But she can handle it.”
“So you know Abby too?”
“Yes I do,” Charisma smiled.
“Oh.” Tony grinned.
They drove back to Abby in silence. At least until Tony’s cell rang.
“DiNozzo….hi boss….yeah, we’re done. We’re just heading back to the lab….uh huh…..ok. Be there shortly.” He hung up the phone.
“That was Gibbs?” said Charisma.
“Yeah. He wants us out at the test site. Said it was urgent.”
She nodded as Tony headed to the site.
**********************************
They arrived about 15 minutes later. Gibbs was waiting for them.
“Glad you’re here. We found another one. This one wasn’t as lucky though.”
They walked over to where Ducky was examining the body.
“What have we got Ducky?” asked Gibbs.
“Well Jethro….” Ducky said as he looked up. “Well hello Charisma.”
“Hello Ducky.”
“Been a while hasn’t it?!”
“About three years.”
“Ah yes! Well….”
“Duck?” interrupted Gibbs. “The body?”
“Right. Sorry Jethro. Our young lady here was beaten quite severely. Put in the box unconscious and buried alive. She suffocated.”
“Same MO as our Jane Doe at the hospital.” said Tony.
“Do we know who she is?” asked McGee.
“Not till we get her prints, I’m afraid.” replied Ducky.
We watched as they loaded the box and body into the truck. We al headed back to the vehicles and drove off to the Naval Yard.
“Whatcha thinking?” asked Tony.
“I was just thinking about those poor women. And their families.”
“We’ll find out who they are.”
“It’s not that Tony.”
He loved how she said his name. “Then what is it?”
“I don’t know. There’s just something very familiar about this whole thing.”
“Like what?”
“That I don’t know.”

Part Two of NCIS On Loan
******************************
Tony and Charisma headed straight to the lab when they returned. Gibbs was not there.
“Abby?” yelled Tony.
“You don’t have to yell Anthony. I’m right here.” She came out from behind a closet door. She saw Charisma and came rushing over, wrapping Charisma in a hug. “Char! You look incredible!”
“So do you Abby. Love the hair!”
“Thanks. Something I’ve been trying. So what are you doing here? Your…um, Gibbs never said you were coming.”
“I’m actually here on official business. I’m working with Tony on the Jane Doe case.”
“So you’re the surprise?”
“Excuse me?”
“Gibbs said this morning that he had a surprise for me. You must be it.”
“Abby, we also come bearing gifts.” said Tony.
“Really?” She took the bags from Tony. “Ooo. Trace. Yes!”
“You’re excited Abby?”
“It’s a great day, Tony. I’ve got to get to work.” She headed to the computer and started.
“Let’s go,” said Tony. “Abs, keep us informed.”
“Will do,” Abby said as she saluted.
Tony and Charisma headed to the morgue. Gibbs and crew were already there.
“Learn anything else Ducky?” asked Gibbs.
“Not yet. Be patient Jethro. I’ll let you know.”
Everyone left the morgue and headed upstairs.
“Charisma, you can use my desk. I have a meeting.” said Gibbs.
“Thanks,” she smiled at him as he walked away.
“Keep me up to speed people.” Gibbs ordered as he left.
“You got it boss,” replied Tony.
*************************
Tony and Charisma spent hours on the phones trying to locate witnesses. Nothing so far. Then the courier arrived.
“I’m looking for a Charisma Ryan.”
“Over there,” replied Kate.
Charisma signed for the package and sat to open it.
“Little small for lunch,” said Tony as he walked over. “Whatcha got?”
“A case file from MPD. I remembered why this case seemed so familiar.”
“Why is that?” Tony asked as he moved around the desk.
“My step father used to talk about a case that always bothered him. He profiled the killer and it got under his skin.” She continued as she opened the file. “Her name was Julie Mills. She disappeared ten years ago. She was found a week later, buried alive, in a box in the middle of a golf course sand trap.”
“Go on.”
“She was alive when they found her, barely. She died in the hospital the next day. All the evidence pointed to the boyfriend, a David Callum. Only one problem---he had an alibi. He was out of town.”
“So what happened?”
“My step father swore the profile didn’t match the boyfriend. But, the police arrested him anyway. The DA thought his alibi was shaky.”
“And…?”
“And he was convicted and sentenced to die. He dies in two weeks.”
“So what’s the problem?”
“Look at the files.” She watched him as he read. His face changed to a frown.
“They’re identical.”
“Down to the smallest detail.”
“So we have a copycat?!”
“I don’t think so. There are details that were not released to the press or otherwise. No one knew, not even the lawyers.”
“So you think the killer has struck again?”
“I think so. Twice apparently.”
“We have to tell Gibbs.”
“Tell Gibbs what DiNozzo?” came a voice from behind them.
“Charisma found something boss.”
“What did you find?” asked Gibbs.
Charisma showed him the case files and told her story. As she finished, she tried to read his expression.
“Go see the boyfriend,” Gibbs finally said.
“On it, boss.” replied Tony.
***********************
Tony and Charisma were silent during the drive. There were really no words to say.
They arrived at the prison and headed inside. They were stopped at the front desk.
“Can I help you?” asked the guard.
Tony pulled out his badge. “My name is DiNozzo and this is Ryan. We’re from NCIS.”
“What is NCIS doing here?”
“We need to speak with David Callum.”
“Ok. Down the hall, 3rd door on the left. We’ll bring him in for ya.”
“Thanks.” Tony said as they headed down the hall.
They didn’t have to wait long. Callum was brought in, ankle shackles and all. He sat at the table, opposite Tony.
“I enjoy meeting with beautiful women, but did you have to bring your boyfriend Char?”
Tony flashed her a look. She ignored him for now.
“David, this is Tony DiNozzo. He is with NCIS. He wants to ask you a few questions.”
“Go ahead, Mr. NCIS.”
Tony leaned forward and began his questions. “I need to ask you about Julie Mills.”
“That’s why I’m here.”
“I know. What I need you to tell me is what you told the cops.”
“I was in New Jersey. I had flown home to be at my aunt’s side as my uncle passed away. I was there for almost nine days. It was three days after Julie was killed and five days before.”
“Did the police look into your alibi?”
“Yeah, but the only person who confirmed it was my aunt. No one else was around except for the funeral. I didn’t see anyone else except for at the funeral.”
“Is your aunt still in Jersey?”
“She died last year.”
Tony looked down at his notes. “Can I show you the pictures of the crime scene?”
“What for?”
“To see if you notice anything off or out of place.”
“Sure.”
Tony opened the file and passed the pictures across the table to Callum. Tony could tell that the pictures bothered him. Maybe the guy was innocent after all. “See anything?”
“No, nothing. I don’t think I can help you.”
“David, keep looking. Not at Julie, but what’s behind her.” said Charisma.
Callum nodded and looked again at the photos. He looked for the longest time before he said anything. “Did you find her necklace?”
“What necklace,” asked Tony.
“She always wore a necklace with a silver locket on it. I don’t see it in these pictures.”
Tony looked at the inventory sheet in the file. “No necklace was logged.”
“Maybe she took it off?” said Charisma.
“She never took it off. It belonged to her grandmother,” said Callum.
“We’ll find it,” said Tony.
“When you do, can I have it?” asked Callum.
“We’ll see what we can do,” answered Tony.
Tony and Charisma gathered up the file and photos as the guard led Callum out of the room. When he was gone, Tony looked at Charisma.
“You never said you knew Callum personally.”
“My stepfather had a lot of guilt for not being to stop the arrest. He never thought David was guilty. I used to come with him sometimes when he would visit David. I haven’t been back since just after my stepfather passed away.”
“You could have said something on the way up here.”
“I know. I’m sorry about that.”
“It’s ok. Just don’t let it happen again.” Tony smiled at her. Charisma really liked his smile.
“I promise.”
Tony called ahead to have the evidence from the Julie Mills case sent to Abby’s lab. It would be there by the time they got back. They drove back to the Navy Yard in silence. They had to figure out what to do next.
*******************************
When they got back, McGee and Todd were just leaving.
“Lunch run Probie?” asked Tony.
“Actually Tony, we’re heading to Norfolk. See if anyone knows our victim.” said Kate.
“Good luck with that,” Tony replied as he and Charisma walked inside.
“You don’t like Agent Todd do you?” asked Charisma.
“It’s not that I don’t like her. It’s just….it’s hard to explain really. I’m not sure what it is.”
“Doesn’t it make it hard to work together?”
“Sometimes.”
The elevator doors opened to Abby’s lab. Gibbs was already there.
“Find anything DiNozzo?”
“Well, boss, maybe.”
“What do you mean maybe?”
“I need to check this box first.”
“So do it.”
Tony opened the evidence box and hunted through it.
“What are you looking for?” asked Abby.
“David Callum, the boyfriend, said Julie Mills always wore a silver locket. But he didn’t see it in the pictures.”
“So what are you thinking?” asked Gibbs.
“Maybe the killer took a trophy. It’s not here.”
“What else did you find out?” asked Gibbs.
“Callum had an alibi. He had flown home to New Jersey to be with his aunt as his uncle passed away. He was there almost nine days.”
“And nobody checked it out?”
“They did, but the only person who saw him outside the funeral was his grieving aunt. The police didn’t believe him. No one except the profiler anyway.”
“Who was the profiler?”
“Mitchell Ryan.” Tony replied.
“My stepfather,” Charisma included.
“He never believed Callum was guilty?” asked Gibbs.
“No. He always felt that the DA was just trying to please the media. He believed in Callum’s innocence till he died,” replied Charisma.
“No other suspects were brought in?”
“The police didn’t look at anyone else boss,” replied Tony.
“Find out why. I want to talk to Charisma for a few minutes.”
“Got it boss.” Tony headed upstairs to his desk.
Gibbs and Charisma headed into an interrogation room. They were gone for quite a while before Tony found anything.
Actually, it found him.
He headed over to the room and saw Gibbs giving Charisma a hug through the window. He waited until they pulled apart to knock on the door.
“Enter.”
Tony opened the door and walked into the interrogation room.
“What is it DiNozzo?”
“Fingerprints.”
“Excuse me?”
“Two sets. We got the victim’s name from AFIS and such. But, they found a set on the body. Unknown, but matches a set found at the Julie Mills scene.”
“Who’s are victim?”
“Her name is Sarah Miles. Civilian. Went missing a week ago.”
“Contact her family if you can.”
“Right away boss.” Tony left the interrogation room and headed back to his desk. Gibbs and Charisma followed suit. Gibbs headed to see Ducky and Charisma sat at his desk, following up on Ms. Miles.

Part Three of NCIS on Loan
(This one is closer to an R rating. I'm warning you now.....)
***************************
Tony must have sat at his desk for hours before something popped up. “Hey Charisma! Come here a second.”
She went over to his desk. “Yeah? What’s up?”
“Take a look at this.”
On his computer screen was a photo of an attractive blonde. The same blonde that was lying in the hospital.
“That’s our vic.”
“Yup. Look further.”
She scanned the page till she saw it. “Sarah Mills. I thought her last name was Miles.”
“Apparently an alias or something. She’s our first vic’s sister.”
“Now what?”
“Now I think we have to go back and talk to David Callum. Maybe he can give us something.”
“I’ll go tell Gibbs and meet you at the car.”
“See you in a few.” Tony and Charisma went their separate ways. This changed things for them. Drastically.
****************************
They drove in silence back to the prison. They had no idea how they were going to begin this conversation. The guard recognized them as they entered the prison.
“You guys back to see Callum?”
“Yup. Same room?” asked Tony.
“Go on in. We’ll bring him in.”
The waited only a few minutes for David Callum. “If it isn’t my favorite girl and her NCIS agent. What are you doing back here so soon?”
“We need to ask you a couple more questions.”
“Ok. Go ahead.”
Tony slid a photo across to Callum. “Do you know this woman?”
Callum took the photo in his hands to look closer at it. “She looks familiar.”
“Her name is Sarah Mills.”
Callum sat back in his chair. “She has Julie’s eyes. What is this about?”
“She is in Bethesda hospital, David.” replied Charisma.
“What?”
“She was found buried alive on an army test site. She is still alive, but barely.” added Tony.
“Buried alive? Like Julie?”
“Just like Julie.”
“What does this have to do with me?”
“Do you remember anyone taking an interest in her?”
“She was 14 at the time. I never really paid attention. But I don’t think so.”
“Thank you, David.” said Charisma.
“You’re welcome,” Callum said as she stood to leave. He paused as he reached the door. “Jacob Blaine.”
“Sorry?” asked Tony.
Callum turned to face them. “Sarah had a boyfriend then. His name was Jacob Blaine. Start there.” He turned and walked out the door.
“Thanks,” said Charisma. She turned to Tony. “Well, I guess that’s our next move.”
“Nope. It’s McGee and Todd’s next move.”
“What are we going to do?”
“We’re going to talk to the victim.” Tony said as he pulled out his phone. “She’s awake.”
Charisma nodded as they headed to the car.
*******************************
They headed to room 212 as they got to the hospital. The doctor was in the room.
“I can’t let you in here,” the doctor said.
“I’m Agent DiNozzo and we are with NCIS.”
“Fine. You have 10 minutes,” the doctor said as he left the room.
Tony and Charisma headed over to the bed. Tony sat in the chair next to it.
“Sarah?”
She slowly opened her eyes and looked at Tony.
“Hi. I’m Tony and this is Charisma. Can we ask you a few questions?”
Sarah slowly nodded.
“Do you remember anything about the night you disappeared?”
“I was out with some friends. We were at a club. Some guy bought me a drink.” She took a deep but strained breath then continued. “I felt different after I drank it. Foggy almost.”
“Do you think you could have been drugged?” asked Charisma.
“Maybe. I don’t know.”
“What else do you remember?” asked Tony.
“Nothing until I woke up. I was curled up in darkness. Silence all around me. Couldn’t see, couldn’t hear. I felt the box, trying to find a way out.”
“Did you hear anything before they pulled you out of the box?”
“Muffled sounds then yelling. Not much else.”
“Anything you’d like to add?”
“I don’t remember anything else.”
“Did you know the guy?” asked Charisma.
“No, never saw him before. But he knew my name….”
Tony reached into his pocket and pulled out his card. “If you remember anything else, please give me a call.”
“Ok.”
Tony and Charisma headed back to the office. They needed to talk to Gibbs.
***********************
It was after midnight when they got back. No one was around. “I guess we should call it a night.”
“Do you want to go for a drink, Tony? A nightcap to help us relax?”
“Yeah, ok.”
They headed to the bar around the corner and sat at the bar.
“Can I getcha anything?”
Tony looked at Charisma. “Whatever you want Tony.” she replied.
“Two tequilas.”
*****************************
They drank for a couple of hours before they stumbled outside to catch a cab.
“Where to?” the driver asked.
“123 East Benton,” Tony replied.
“My hotel is the other way.” Charisma whispered.
“I know.” Tony smiled.
When they arrived at Tony’s house, he paid the driver and helped Charisma out of the cab. He led her up to the door and opened it with his key. They went inside as he turned on the light.
“Make yourself at home.”
Charisma sat on the couch and took off her jacket. She looked around the house as she waited for Tony. She finally heard him behind her.
“You have a great place Tony.”
“Thanks. I try,” he said as he handed her a glass of iced tea. “No alcohol. I promise.”
She smiled as she took the glass from him. He sat next to her on the couch.
“So tell me about your father.”
“I already did.”
“No, no. Your biological father.”
“Oh.” She set the glass on his coffee table and sat back. “I don’t remember a lot from when they were together. He’s a good guy. They just couldn’t stay married.”
“Continue,” Tony said as he ran his fingers through her hair.
“He’s hard nosed and a hard worker. An honest man who loves his job even if he doesn’t show it all the time. Works with some smart people too. Trusts them with his life.”
“What does he do?”
“He works for the government.”
“A lawman of sorts?”
“Yeah, you could say that.” She looked up at Tony and saw him staring at her. “What is it?”
“You are beautiful. Do you know that?”
“You’re drunk.”
“Yes I am, but you’re still beautiful.” Tony leaned in and started to kiss her neck.
“Tony, I don’t think we should do this.”
He stopped and looked at her. “Why not?”
“Because we just met for one. We barely know each other.”
“If you want me to stop, I’ll stop. I promise.”
She nodded as he started to kiss her lips. His hands found their way to her shirt and he removed it, breaking their lips apart for only a second. She helped him off with his shirt and ran a hand down his chest to the waistband of his pants. He stood up and led her to the bedroom. He laid her down on the bed and removed her pants and underwear. He then stood and removed his own pants. He stretched his body over hers and kissed her deeply. They moved together as he thrust into her again and again. More and more she wanted this. As he thrust again, they cam together. He collapsed next to her, wrapping her in his arms. They drifted into slumber, listening to each other’s breathing.

Part Four of NCIS On Loan
This is the final part.
******************
Charisma awoke the next morning to the smell of coffee. As she opened her eyes, she looked around. Where was she? Then she remembered. Tony She had slept with Tony!
She got out of bed and grabbed her clothes. As she finished dressing, she headed out of the bedroom. There, in the kitchen, she saw Tony.
“Morning Charisma.”
“Morning Tony.”
He turned and looked at her. “Something wrong?”
“Tony, about last night…..”
“Stop,” he interrupted. “If you’re not comfortable with what happened, I won’t mention it again.”
“It’s not that.”
“Then what? I thought it was pretty amazing.”
She looked up at him. “It was….it’s just….I don’t do things like that.”
“Neither do I. Normally."
“So what happens now?”
“That’s up to you.” Just as she went to answer him, the phone rang. “Hello?…..morning boss…..ok. We’ll be there in 20.”
“Gibbs?”
“Yup. He wants us at the office. You got a change of clothes?”
“In the truck. At the bar.”
“Let’s go then.”
They caught a cab back to the bar and hopped in the SUV. Charisma changed while Tony drove. They arrived at the office, 18 minutes later.
“Sarah Mills called the police last night. Someone was in her hospital room. They caught her attacker and he confessed to Julie Mills’ murder as well. Callum’s being released in about an hour.”
“Who was he?” asked Charisma.
“Their estranged father,” replied Gibbs. “Good work everyone.” As he walked away, Charisma stopped him.
“Can I speak to you a moment?”
“Sure.” He led her to the interrogation room.
Kate looked at Tony who suddenly looked nervous. “Something wrong, Tony?”
“I don’t know yet.”
*******************
Gibbs closed the door behind him. “What’s up?”
“I need to talk to you about Tony”
“What about him?”
“You think he’s a good guy right?”
“Yes, but I don’t let him know that.”
“What would you say if I told you that I was interested in seeing him?”
“Are you?”
“Yes.”
“And Tony? Is he interested?”
“Yes.”
Gibbs paused a moment and took a deep breath. “You’re an adult. I can’t stop you from seeing someone.”
“It would be nice to have your support though.”
“You always do.”
Charisma stood and gave Gibbs a hug. “Thank you.”
“Welcome. But I want to talk to Tony.”
“I knew you would. I’ll let him know. I want to go to the prison and meet David.”
“Go ahead. Just be careful.”
“Always.” She exited the room and went to Tony. “He wants to speak to you.” She headed to the elevator. And out of the building.
Tony stood and took a deep breath. Now he was really nervous.
*****************************
Charisma arrived at the prison just as David was walking outside. He saw her and smiled. “If it isn’t my favorite gal? What are you doing here?”
“I thought it would be nice for you to see a familiar face when you got out. How are you doing?”
“Better, now. You know what I realized?”
“What?”
“I never got the chance to mourn Julie. Not even while inside. Now, I have that chance. Can you do me a favor?”
“Sure.”
“Can you take me to the cemetery? I would like to say goodbye.”
“Sure.” Charisma and David headed over to her car and crawled in. She headed towards the cemetery, so David could say goodbye to the woman he would love forever.
*************************
Tony knocked on the door.
“Enter.”
Tony entered and closed the door behind him. “You wanted to see me boss?”
“Charisma tells me you’re interested in dating her.”
“Yes sir, I am.”
“I’ll give you my blessing as long as you understand one thing---if you hurt her in any way, you’re six is mine.”
“I understand, boss.”
“Good. Dismissed.”
Tony stood up and paused. “Can I ask you a question boss?”
“Sure."
“Why does it matter so much to you about what happens between Charisma and I?”
“Because, DiNozzo. She’s my daughter.”
Tony was speechless as Gibbs walked out the door. ‘I’m a dead man’.

For your first fanfic it rocks! Mine was much worser when I wrote it down a year ago.
I guess the one was about an old case, and Kate got stuck in the ladies room and used her gun to free herself. Something that isn't allowed in federal buildings. It was kind of a strange fanfiction. The fanfic that followed was about a drug bust in asia but that wasn't promissing.
Keep up the good work on your fanfictions. I love to read more of the ones you wrote.

Ok, everyone. Here is the next fanfic for you guys that isn't a response to a challenge. Those are coming, slowly but surely.
Close Call Part 1
“DiNozzo!!!!!” Tony cringed. Hastily grabbing the donut he had come for, he ran quickly back into the bullpen. Slowing as he neared Gibbs’ desk, he wondered what exactly he had done this time.
Flashing he mega-watt smile at Gibbs, he tried to look innocent. And failed. Miserably.
“Wipe that grin off you face, DiNozzo,” Gibbs groaned. “Do I look like a lovesick female?”
Out of the corner of his eye, Tony thought he saw Kate duck behind a file to hide her smile. Straightening his face quickly, Tony tried to gauge Gibbs’ mood. Was he really mad or was he just acting? And just how mad was he? Apparently, really mad.
“Do you realize what you’ve done?” Gibbs asked, quietly, dangerously.
“No, boss.” Tony answered.
“I don’t know about you DiNozzo. This is, what, the third time this week?! I don’t’ know if I can work with an agent who so blatantly disregards my rules.”
Confusion flashed in Tony’s eyes for a split second before he caught on. Grinning slightly, he responded cockily. “I get it. You think I did it. Whatever it is. But you don’t have the proof. Sorry boss, but I ‘m not going to fess up.”
Gibbs raised an eyebrow. “You think so, DiNozzo? You don’t think that maybe I do have the proof, but a confession would save me so much time?”
Swallowing hard, he looked at his feet. Behind him, he heard Kate snickering and realized he had just walked into a trap. He kicked himself mentally. He slowly caught something Gibbs had said earlier. “Whaddya mean, ‘blatantly disregard your rules’? What rules?”
Gibbs grinned just a little. “Rule number twenty four. Never hide your birthdate!”
Tony blushed. “I didn’t want to make a deal about it. I just wanted a quiet day at home with Charisma.”
“And you’ll get that. Later. I…” Gibbs was interrupted by his ringing phone. “Gibbs….where….we’ll be there in 15.” Gibbs looked at everyone as he hung up the phone. “Grab your gear. We have a body.”
**************************
“For the last time, Kate. I was trying to get my seatbelt on,” exclaimed Tony.
“So to put your seatbelt on, your hand just had to rest on my thigh?”
“It wasn’t resting. I barely touched you.”
“Which time?”
DiNozzo frowned. “Believe me Kate, if it was on purpose, you would know. And it wouldn’t just be your leg.”
“In your dreams, Tony.”
“Perhaps, Kate. Perhaps,” he replied as he walked away from her.
Gibbs shook his head at the whole scene.
“What is it Jethro?” asked Ducky.
“Why is it I feel like I’m a high school principal?”
“Good question, Jethro. Good question indeed.”
Gibbs nodded as Ducky bent over the body.
“So what have we got Duck?”
“Well, Jethro. He’s dead.”
“I can see that. Anything else?”
“He’s missing a finger.”
“Before death?”
“Probably. But not long before. Wound is still tacky.”
“Anything else?”
“Not yet. Let’s get him back to the lab.”
They moved the body into the van and Ducky headed back to the morgue.
Meanwhile, the team hunted the scene for everything and anything they could find.
Gibbs’ phone broke the silence. He took the conversation outside.
“I don’t see anything else. Now what?” asked McGee.
“I say it’s time we turn out the lights and play in the dark,” replied Tony.
“Is everything about sex with you Tony?” sighed Kate.
“I was talking about the UV light, Kate. Does everything have to be about sex with you, Kate?”
“Oh, bite me.”
“Oh, sarcasm is so not healthy, Kate.”
Her response was to stick her tongue out at him.
“Now that shows promise,” smiled Tony.
Her face flushed as she looked away from him.
“Women. Can’t live with them, can’t see why you’d want to.” said Tony.
“Is that your final answer Tony?”
“Yes. Of course, with the exception of Charisma.”
“Of course. Can’t forget her.”
“Kate, that hurts. You know how I feel about her.”
“I do. I also know a bit about your dating history.”
“For your information Kate, Charisma and I are getting married.”
Kate was silent as she stared in shock at Tony.
“What?” Tony asked innocently.
“Did you say what I think you just said?”
“I think I was just thinking out loud again.”
“You proposed to Charisma?”
“Oh that! Yeah.” He walked away.
“When were you going to tell me?”
“I just did.”
“Does Gibbs know?”
“Yeah. He’s known for about a week.”
“So you were keeping it from me?!”
“No, Kate. I wasn’t. I was going to tell you. You’re my friend. Why is this bugging you so much? Are you jealous?”
“You wish Tony.”
“Wait. I get it. You’re upset because for once you didn’t know something before me.”
Kate paused for a second. “Do you really think I’m that shallow?”
Tony looked sideways at Kate and winked. He then walked outside with a bag of evidence.
Kate looked at McGee. “Am I that shallow, McGee?”
“No, ma’am. Tony’s just pulling your leg.”
“Really?”
“Yes. I don’t think you’re shallow at all.”
“Thanks McGee. You ready?”
“Yes. And you’re welcome.”

Close Call Part 2
“You wanted to see me Abby?” asked Gibbs.
“Something’s hinky.”
“What is it Abby?”
“The blood Ducky sent over from the vic and the missing finger."
“What about it?”
“They don’t match.”
“Pardon?”
“The blood type and DNA from the finger wound does not match the DNA and blood type from the victim.”
“So what are you thinking?”
“Maybe our perp cut himself removing the finger.”
“Ok. So now what?”
“Find me something to compare the DNA too and you’ll find your killer.”
Gibbs opened his phone and dialled.
“DiNozzo.”
“It’s me. Get down to the lab, now!” He hung up the phone.
Tony looked at Kate.
“What’s wrong Tony?”
“Nothing. I gotta go.” He stood and headed to the elevator.
Gibbs was gone when Tony got to the lab. “Hey Abs. What’s up?”
“Hey Tony. I’m not sure. Gibbs will be back in a second. Wanna see something?” she winked at him.
“Abby, are you flirting with me?”
“I meant the scope, Tony.”
“I knew that.” he smiled. He looked down the scope.
“What is this Abby?”
“It’s one of the scrapings Ducky sent over. It’s skin from under the vic’s fingernails.”
“What’s going on?”
“It’s a bacteria. It’s multiplying.”
“What kind of bacteria?”
“I don’t know yet. I’m waiting on the results.”
Tony stood up and turned to Abby. “So what else weird do you need to tell me?”
“Well, the blood from the finger wound does not match the vic’s blood.”
“So it’s not his?!”
“Not even close. But, it could be our killer’s.”
“Anything else?”
“The bacteria is present in the finger wound blood as well.”
“Well that tells us the skin under the vic’s nails is the killers.”
“Or at least that they fought.”
“So now what?”
“Now, we find the killer DiNozzo.” replied Gibbs from behind.
“Hey boss. What was so urgent?”
“I need you here, helping Abby. I want you two to go over everything, 5 times if need be.”
“Sure. But why me?”
“Because I need someone else I trust here.” With that, he turned and walked out of the lab.
“Sure is nice to know he trusts us, huh?”
“Yeah, it is.” With that, Abby and Tony settled in to work.
*****************************
Tony stood up from the table and stretched. “What time is it Abs?”
“0345” she replied.
“How can you work this late?” he yawned.
“I like night. There’s a futon under my desk if you want to take a nap.”
“Bless you,” he replied as he headed to her desk.
“What are you, my priest?”
“Curse you?”
With that, Abby grinned. Tony curled up under the desk to take a short nap. He had mumbled something to Abby about waking him in a couple of hours.
***********************
Gibbs came into the lab the next morning, looking for results. What he found was shocking. He turned and left the lab. As he walked outside, he called Tony’s cell.
“DiNozzo,” he answered sleepily.
“My desk. Ten minutes.” Gibbs snapped. As he headed to the elevator, he ran into McGee.
“Morning boss.”
“If you see DiNozzo, tell him he is under house arrest until further notice.”
McGee looked stunned as the elevator doors closed. He headed to the lab and was literally run over by Tony.
“Sorry, Probie.”
“Gibbs is mad. He said you’re under house arrest.”
“Upstairs?”
“Yup.”
“Thanks,” Tony said as he headed into the elevator.
Tony took a deep breath as the elevator doors opened. He slowly walked to Gibbs’ desk.
“Hey boss. McGee said you wanted to see me.” He paused and took a breath. “Actually, he said that you said I was under house arrest, but I figured that was just your way of making a point.”
“Do I have to tell you the name of the creek you’re up without a paddle or how deep it is?”
“Up to my knees?”
“Ahh, so you’re familiar with this creek?!”
“What did I do boss?”<br> “Let’s go over here.” Gibbs and Tony headed to the interrogation room.
“What’s wrong boss?”
“How could you?”
“What?” Tony had a look of confusion on his face.
“Don’t play dumb with me DiNozzo!”
“I can honestly say, at this moment, I’m not playing.”
“I saw you and Abby!”
Tony’s confusion faded as he caught onto what Gibbs was talking about. “Oh that. Nothing happened. I fell asleep at about 4. Abby must have gone to sleep after that.”
“Nothing happened?”
“Abby and I may flirt but she is like my sister. Besides, I love Charisma and would never do anything to hurt her, or our relationship.”
“Good to hear.”
“Can I go now? I was finishing up something in the lab.”
“Go ahead. Keep me informed.”
“You got it.” Tony headed back out to the elevator.
Gibbs was shaking his head when he ran into Kate.
“Something wrong Gibbs?”
“Just…..nothing. It’s nothing.”
“Ok.”
*********************
“He what?” asked Abby.
“When he walked into the lab, he saw you and I sleeping on the futon together and thought the worst.”
Abby burst out laughing.
“What’s so funny?”
“Gibbs. I can’t believe he actually thought you and I would ever sleep together. At least, not…” her voice trailed off.
“I know. I thought the same thing.”
“Tell me something I don’t know.”
“I once dated my high school music teacher.”
“You told me that once. What you didn’t tell me is what his name was.”
“Cute Abs.”
“I know.” she grinned.
“I’m going upstairs. Call if you need me.”
“See ya later.”
*********************
Kate had curled up under her desk for a quick nap. They were all running on lack of sleep.
Tony was just dozing off in his chair when Gibbs came into the bullpen.
“Grab your gear!” yelled Gibbs.
“My three favorite words!”
“Where’s Kate?”
“Kate.” His voice was soft at first but he got no answer. “KATE!”
“What?” came the reply from under the desk.
“Time to wake up.”
“Ughh….I feel like hell.”
“Yeah. You don’t look too good either.”
“A woman loves to hear that Tony. I think I’m getting sick.”
“If you’re coming down with something don’t sit next to me in the truck.”
“Wow! There is an upside to having a cold after all.”
“You wanna tell the doctor about it?” Tony asks as he straightens his imaginary tie and smiles.
“Can we go now?” asked Gibbs as he headed out the door.
“Remember the good ole days, Kate?” asked Tony.
“What good old days?”
“When Gibbs would confide in us, treat us like peers.”
“No.”
“Good. I thought I was the only one.”
******************************
“You sure you know where you’re going?” asked Kate.
“Used to do this for a living,” replied Gibbs.
“Wow, boss. They had maps back then.” Tony said sarcastically.
Gibbs show Tony ’the look’ in the rear view mirror. Tony quickly shut up.
“Wow! That was quick Tony. And you didn’t even have to use a lifeline.” Kate grinned at Tony.
A few minutes later, they pulled up to a building that was crawling with SWAT. Tony looked around and sighed.
“Do you know what really ticks me off?”
“Gibbs?” Kate replied.
“Besides him. These guys get paid more than we do.”
“It is sad, isn’t it?”
“Yeah. It is.”
***********************
Gibbs was fuming. First they had been called to the site then they were pushed away from the site. They were denied access, even though they were called in in the first place. Gibbs stormed off when they returned to the lab.
“You guys have plans tonight?” asked Tony.
“Not really,” replied Kate and McGee.
“Good, cause the last time Gibbs got like this, I didn’t go home for a week.” Tony walked to his desk, grabbed some files and headed to the break room. Kate watched him walk away with a confused look on his face.
“Tony does his best work without an audience,” she heard Gibbs say.
“I’m beginning to notice that.”
“He really is a smart guy, Kate. Sometimes he just needs a push in the right direction.”
“You know something, Gibbs? That is the first time I’ve ever heard you say anything nice about Tony.”
Gibbs winked at her. “Don’t let it get around.”
She smiled at him as she agreed.
****************************
“What’s up Abs? You look confused.” said Tony.
“Something’s…….”
“Hinky?"
“Yeah.”
“What is it?”
Abby looked at Tony and smiled. “Nothing. Just seeing if you’re paying attention.”
“You are one sadistic person Abs. What have you got to say for yourself?” Tony said with a smile.
“Um….machine making pretty pictures now.” She smiled at him.
Tony couldn’t help but laugh. Abby could always make him laugh.
“I’m going back to my work now. Call if you find anything.”
“Ok Tony.”

“DiNozzo!” Gibbs yelled.
Tony slid off the chair and hit the floor as he was startled awake.
“Wha….oh hey boss.”
“I thought you were working?”
“I was boss. I only shut my eyes for a second.”
“You were snoring.”
“Sorry, boss. What time is it?”
“0200.”
“Crap!”
“What?”
“I was supposed to meet Charisma at seven o’clock.”
“She called. I explained everything.”
“Was she mad?”
“Nope. She was relieved that nothing had happened to you. She’s at your place.”
“Ok.”
“Go home, Tony. Tomorrow’s another day.”
“Night boss.” Tony said as he headed out the door.
*************************
Tony unlocked his door and quietly walked into his house. He closed and locked the door behind him. Quietly he undressed, as he headed into the bedroom. He climbed into bed and wrapped his arms around Charisma, and snuggled into her.
“Hi.”
“Hi. Sorry about earlier.”
“It’s ok. I’m just glad you’re ok.”
“I am. I love you.”
“I love you too.” Charisma drifted back to sleep as Tony listened to her breathing. He drifted off to sleep holding her in his arms.
*********************************
“All men lie to some degree, Kate. It’s expected of them.” Tony and Kate were just coming into the bullpen for another long day.
“Don’t confuse your world with reality, Tony.”
“It’s like when a woman asks a guy to guess her age. You ever done that?”
Kate just looked at him, trying to figure out his thought process.
“Kate, are you trying to tell me that you honestly believe you still look twenty-five?” Tony smiled and walked towards his desk.
“Not anymore,” whispered Kate.
Tony sat at his desk, smiling at Kate. He knew he was going to be in trouble later, but for now he was enjoying his victory over Kate.
***********************************
Tony and Kate had been at work for almost 2 hours and no sign of Gibbs yet. It was quiet.
Tony crumpled up a piece of paper and tossed the sheet over his shoulder. It landed in the trash basket.
“Ho do you do that?” asked Kate.
“First string varsity, Ohio State.” Tony smiled at her.
“Why doesn’t it surprise me that you were a jock?”
“My charming personality gave it away huh?”
“No. Your arrogance.” Kate smiled, knowing she had gotten Tony back, even if it was just partially.
A few moments later, Gibbs walked through the bullpen to his desk.
“Don’t say anything, DiNozzo.”
“I wasn’t going to boss.”
“Don’t even think it.”
“Too late.”
Kate looked at Tony and giggled under her breath.
“Older doesn’t mean deaf, Agent Todd.”
Kate shut up immediately. Tony smiled as he looked back at his computer.
Just then, Gibbs’ phone rang.
“Gibbs….where?…..we’ll be right there.”
“What’s up boss?”
“Gas the truck Tony. That was an informant. He was reporting a bomb.”
“Are you sure that he said bomb, boss?”
“Yes, DiNozzo. I’m sure he said bomb.”
“I’ll gas the truck.”
***********************************
They arrived a little while later.
“Split up. Stay on your radios.” Everyone scattered to search for the bomb.
Suddenly, their radios cackled.
“Everyone out! Now!” Gibbs said.
Everyone turned to run out of the building.
“What’s happening?” asked McGee, who had waited outside.
“Gibbs thought he saw a bomb,” replied Kate.
“I found a body.” whispered Tony.
“What do you mean thought?” asked Gibbs.
“Do I really need to say it, Gibbs?”
“Say what?”
“Yes, Kate. Say what?” added Tony.
“You need glasses.” Just as she finished her thought, the bomb exploded.
“Sorry. I don’t think I caught that last part.” said Gibbs.
“Tony, what were you saying about a body?” asked Ducky.
“I found a body. I cam across him as I was leaving the building. Kate saw it too.”
“I don’t suppose either of you thought to take a photograph before you ran screaming?” Everyone looked at Tony.
“That was not screaming. That was yelling….loudly.” Tony defended. “And no, no photo. Sorry.”
“It’s alright, Anthony. You had other things on your mind.”
“Like screaming like a girl,” interjected McGee.
Tony looked hurt as everyone started laughing. “I’m going to the truck” Tony pouted.
****************************
Tony was hurt. Laughing at him was uncalled for. He didn’t scream like a girl. But almost anyone would have been panicked. It was a bomb for crying out loud.
Tony had come home. He always felt better around Charisma.
“They laughed at you?”
“Yeah. Well, it was closer to snickering, but still.”
“Honey, I’m sorry.”
Tony grinned at her as she curled up on the couch next to him. “I just want to forget about today.”
“I’m sure I can help you with that.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah.” She raised her head and kissed him.
*******************************
“What’s up, Tony?”
“When Gibbs introduced us, he introduced you, then McGee, then me. Why did he mention me last?”
“You are kidding right?” said Kate.
“No. For Gibbs to mix up his seniority order like that is….it just seems weird that’s all.”
“I don’t think it really means….” McGee started.
“Probie.” Tony put his hand up to interrupt him.
“I wouldn’t put too much stock in it.” Kate said.
“Why do you say that?”
“Because I don’t think it has anything to do with seniority.”
“What do you think it has to do with?” asked Tony.
Kate grinned. “My guess would be level of intelligence and general competence.”
“You’re funny Kate.” replied Tony.
“DiNozzo! Get to work!” yelled Gibbs.
“You know something? I think Gibbs enjoys yelling at me more then he does sex.”
“That would explain the 3 wives.”
Tony nodded and smiled his agreement.
“Kate, I need you over here on your knees. It’s time to get dirty.” said Tony.
“WHAT?!”
“We need to sweep the floor to find the bullet.”
“I knew that,” Kate said shyly.
“Sure you did.” Tony said sarcastically.
“You know, Tony. With all the bad karma you’ve built up, I’m surprised something hasn’t just fallen off.”
Tony looked down for just a second.
“Missing something DiNozzo?!”
“Nope. Just making sure I had everything I needed boss.”
“Good. Let’s go.”
“But we’re not done Gibbs.” said Kate.
“There’s nothing here, Agent Todd. Let’s go.”
Gibbs turned and headed out as Tony and Kate gave each other confused looks.
******************************
“Houston, the cell phone has landed.”
“What are you babbling about, DiNozzo?” asked Gibbs.
“Your cell phone boss.”
“You lifted my cell phone?”
“I prefer the term borrowed. Lifted has such a negative connotation.”
“What did you need it for, DiNozzo?”
“Show. Needed to look important.”
“Where’s your phone?”
“I left it in the truck. It’s in my jacket.”
“So what you’re trying to say is that you stole my cell phone?!”
Tony’s grin faded just a bit. “Yeah.”
“That’s what I thought.” Gibbs replied, smiling.
*******************************
“I don’t care! Find out who’s to blame! Yes, I mean today!” Gibbs slammed the phone down. “Damnit!! I need coffee.” Gibbs stood and headed to the elevator.
“Wow, I thought you were the only one who could piss him off like that.” said Kate.
“You never met his second wife.” replied Tony. “Hey! I have a crazy idea.” he said as he smiled at her.
“Those are never comforting words coming from you.” Kate paused and took a breath. “Ok, Tony. What’s your idea?”
“Just a practical joke on McGee.”
“A hazing?”
“Nah.” he shook his head and smiled.
“You’re cruel.” Kate said.
“I know. Ain’t it great?”
“When?”
“Sometime in the next few days. He’ll never suspect. You in?”
She smiled. “Sure.”
“Great.”
*******************************
“Do you sleep with a gun under your pillow every night?” Tony asked as he and Kate exited the elevator.
“That depends.”
“On what?”
“On who I’m sleeping with.” Kate replied as she sat down at her desk.
“Morning Kate. DiNozzo.” said Gibbs.
“Morning,” Kate and Tony replied.
“DiNozzo, I need you to do something for me.”
“Sure boss. What’s up?”
“I need you to meet with the FBI down in Abby’s lab.”
“Ok. But why? Hey Abs.”
“Because I don’t trust the FBI.”
“I know that.” Tony grinned.
“I want someone I know there.” Gibbs said as he walked away.
“That’s the same as saying someone you trust.”
Keeping his back to Tony, Gibbs smiles.
“Someone you can depend on…..your best man?” Tony said as he followed Gibbs to the elevator. Gibbs smiled again as the door closed.
“I don’t think best man was the right thing to say to someone who’s been married thrice.” Tony said as he turned to face Abby.
“You worried?” Abby asked.
“Oh….nah.”
“Yeah, me too.” Abby said as the two of them headed into the elevator.
*******************************
“Is there anything you can’t find?” asked Abby.
“A way to shut up DiNozzo.” replied McGee.
“Now, Probie. Why would you want to do that?” said Tony.
“Sorry, sir. You just frustrated me earlier, that’s all.”
“Doing what?”
“Your little car prank.”
“What prank?”
“Never mind” McGee replied as he left the lab.
“What did you do?” asked Abby.
“Honestly Abs. I didn’t do anything.”
“You sure?”
“Yes. I’m sure.”
“Ok.”
“Can we get to work now?” a voice from behind asked.
“Sure. Why not?” answered Abby.

Close Call Part 4
They discussed stuff with the agents for almost an hour when Tony’s cell phone rang.
“Excuse me for a second.” Tony got up from the chair and walked to the other side of the lab. “DiNozzo.”
“Tony, it’s me. Don’t let on its me.” said Gibbs.
“Hey hon. What’s up?”
“The agents aren’t FBI. They’re impostors.”
“Wow. That sounds like fun.”
“Bring Abby up here as soon as you can.”
“Ok. Love you too.” Tony hung up the phone and walked back to Abby. “My girlfriend. Likes to check in.”
“Uh huh.” said the first agent.
“So, are we done here?” asked Tony.
“No, Agent DiNozzo. We’re not.” The “agent” pulled a gun on them. “Sit down, please.”
Tony and Abby sat down in the chairs.
“Is this going to take long? I need to get home before my girlfriend worries.”
“Open your mouth again and you’re dead.”
“Ok. Ok.” Tony held his hands up in surrender.
Just then, Tony’s phone rang again. He reached for it.
“Don’t move!”
“If I don’t answer that, someone’s gonna come and look for me. You don’t want that do you?!”
“Fine. But don’t go far.”
Tony got up and moved to the other side of the lab. “DiNozzo.”
“It’s me. Anything new?”
“Oh yeah. Big time.”
“Can you talk?”
“Not sure.”
“Tell me what you can.”
Tony’s voice dropped to a whisper. “Two guns. They’re holding them on us. But haven’t said what they want yet.”
“We’re right outside. I can see Abby. Signal when you’re ready.”
“Ok. See you soon.” Tony hung up the phone and walked back to Abby. “My mom. Checks in once a day.”
“Touching.”
“So what do you want anyway?”
“There are files here that we need. And you two are going to get them for us.”
“What kind of files?” Abby asked.
“Classified ones.”
“I guessed that. Which ones?”
“We don’t know yet.”
Tony raised his fingers to signal Gibbs. He had to get them in here. The first “agent” saw Tony move. He pulled the trigger and shot Tony in the shoulder.
“I told you not to move!”
“Tony!” Abby cried as she dropped beside him.
Just then, Gibbs and company came barrelling into the lab. They had to shoot the impostors.
“Call an ambulance!” yelled Gibbs.
***********************
When Tony awoke in the hospital, the first face he saw was Charisma’s.
“Hey beautiful.”
“Hey Tony.”
“You’ve been crying?”
“I thought I was going to lose you.”
“Never. I promised you that didn’t I?”
Charisma nodded. “It’s just, when I heard, I thought it was bad. Worse then it is.”
“I’m fine Char.”
“I could have lost you.” she started crying.
Tony sat up and wrapped her in a hug the best he could. “I’m right her. I’m not going anywhere.”
She climbed into the hospital bed with him and drifted of to sleep in his arms.
**********************************
Tony was in the elevator with Gibbs and Kate.
“Good job, DiNozzo,” said Gibbs.
“Did you say something, boss. Kate, did he say something?”
“Don’t push it,” Kate replied.
“Pushing it is what I love about this job.” Tony took a breath and looked at Gibbs. “Ok, ok. But….you don’t care? I need to hear you say that you care.”
“Tony, as far as I’m concerned you are…..irreplaceable.”
“I knew it. I knew behind the whole marine thing you had a heart…”
Gibbs turned to McGee, who was sitting at Tony’s desk. “Forget about it McGee. He’s still alive.”
Tony looked stunned as he sees McGee sitting at his desk.

You know that old saying about how you only hurt the ones you love? I must really love Tony...read and see what I mean.
Close Call Part 2
Tony’s arm still hurt. It had been just over a week since he had been shot.
He hadn’t told anyone that the whole ordeal had scared him. Not even Charisma. She had been scared enough. He didn’t want to worry her anymore.
He was sitting at his desk, working on the computer the best he could. His shoulder was healing but it bothered him sometimes.
“DiNozzo, you’re here early.” said Gibbs as he got of the elevator, hand around the usual coffee cup.
“Yeah. I type a little slower then usual so I thought I would start earlier.” Tony grinned.
“You should get shot more often then” Gibbs replied. “Oh, by the way, I need you to come down to the lab with me. Abby needs to show us something.”
“Ok, boss. When?”
“Now.”
“Let’s go then.” Gibbs and Tony headed to the elevator and went down to the lab. IT was dark when they got there.
“Where’s Abby? I thought she was here?”
“She is.” Gibbs grinned as he replied. “Come on.”
Gibbs opened the sliding lab doors and reached for the light switch. Just as he turned the lights on, Tony got: “SURPRISE!!!!!!”
Tony looked stunned. He looked at Gibbs, who had a big smile on his face.
“What is this all about, boss?”
“Your birthday Tony. You didn’t think I forgot did you?!”
“You never forget anything boss; my birthday isn’t till tomorrow though.”
“I know. That’s why you have tomorrow off.”
“Since when?”
“Since I said so. Now mingle.”
Tony saw Charisma and headed over to her. He wrapped his arms around her from behind.
“Hello beautiful.”
“Hello yourself,” she replied as she turned around to face him.
“So this is why you left before I was up this morning?!”
“Yup. I had to come and help Abs decorate. You like it?”
“Yes. Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
“I love you, Charisma.”
“I love you, Tony.”
She leaned in and kissed him. He wrapped her tighter in his arms. Just then he saw Kate making her way over.
“Happy birthday Tony.”
“Thank you Kate.”
She walked away in silence. He was wondering what was eating her. He mad a mental note to ask her later. He smiled when he saw how much fun Charisma was having. He loved her smile.
****************************
Tony noticed Kate standing by herself on the far side of the lab. He wandered over and handed her a glass.
“Thanks.” she said automatically.
“What’s up Kate?”
“Nothing.”
“It doesn’t look like nothing. Wanna talk?”
“No thanks.” she said as she turned away from him.
He moved around so he was in her eye line again. “Look. I know you and I have our rough days but I am a good listener. You can talk to me, whether you think so or not.” With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Kate alone.
***********************************
It had been an uneventful day at the office. Pile upon pile of paperwork but nothing else. Tony actually got to go home at a decent time!
When he got home, Charisma wasn’t there. He noticed the note.
“Tony, I know your birthday is tomorrow but after the party I thought you needed some alone time. You looked tired. Kate will be by later. I love you, Charisma”
Kate? Why was she coming here? Tony heard the doorbell ring as he shook his head.
He opened the door to see Kate. “Hi Kate.”
“Hi. Can I come in?”
“Sure.” He moved to let her in. “Have a seat. Let me take your coat.”
“Thanks.” She moved to the couch as he hung her jacket up. “Nice place. I was expecting something different.”
“Messy?”
“Yeah, I guess.” she grinned nervously.
“Kate, what’s wrong?”
She sighed. As she looked at him, he could see tears in her eyes. Kate never cried. She was too tough to cry. As she started to sob, he wrapped her in a hug.
“Tony, I am so sorry. I shouldn’t have come.”
“Yes you should have. Talk to me Kate.”
She pulled away from him. He handed her a tissue. “OK. But you have to promise to keep it quiet.”
“I promise.”
She took a breath and told Tony her story.
**************************
Kate had fallen asleep on Tony’s couch. She had looked so peaceful that he didn’t want to wake her.
He was making coffee when Kate woke up.
“Morning Kate.”
“What time is it?”
“0700. You have time for coffee.”
“Thanks.” she sighed and paused for moment. “I’m sorry about last night.”
“Think nothing of it.”
“You really are a good guy, you know that?!”
“Shh. Don’t let it get around.” he smiled.
She couldn’t help but smile back. “Thanks again. Now, I should go home and get ready for work.”
“I’ll see you tomorrow, Kate.”
“See you tomorrow.” she said as she headed out the door.
Tony was glad that Kate was beginning to trust him enough to talk to him. He smiled as he headed back to the kitchen.
*******************************
“Argh!!!” Tony heard Kate across the bullpen.
“What’s up Kate?”
“I called the county clerk’s office to see about getting the records sent over, and I get a recording. And the recording tells me to call another number, which I do, which gives me another recording that directs me to dial the first number that I called.”
“Look on the bright side.” Tony smiled.
“What bright side?”
“It’s just an expression.” Tony’s grin faded as Kate rolled her eyes at him. “Just trying to cheer you up Kate. Stress is bad for you. Can make you crazy. Make you go buggy.”
“Tony…” Kate was interrupted by the dinging of the elevator. Gibbs looked ticked.
“Boss?” Tony said hesitantly.
“What?” Gibbs snapped as he turned to face the agents.
“Just wonderin’ what’s up, that’s all.”
“What’s up? What’s up, DiNozzo? What’s up is that we have nothing on this case. Nothing at all. And now, the FBI are planning on taking over this case that we have nothing on. That’s what’s up, DiNozzo.”
“Ok….”
“Beep me if you find anything. I’ll be in the lab.”
Tony and Kate watched in silence as Gibbs headed down the stairs.
“You think he knows more than he’s telling us?”
“C’mon Kate, this is Gibbs we’re talking about. Of course he does.”
***********************************
“Are you on a roll?” Gibbs asked as he walked through the sliding lab doors.
“Aren’t I always? What’s up?” asked Abby.
“You’re particularly feisty today, Abby.”
“Thank you for noticing. You never answered my question. What’s up?”
“I can’t come see you without a reason?”
“Sure. You just never do.”
“Talk to me.”
“About what?”
“Anything. Just keep my mind occupied.”
“Ok. Let’s see…I know this one guy that does a full upper body workout just seconds before his date just so he can be pumped. At least he used to before he found his dream girl.”
“Does Tony know that you know?”
“Does Tony know that you know?”
Gibbs just smiled at her. “Anything else you want to tell me?”
“I dated this guy once who just wanted me to bounce up and down on a balloon.”
“Ok. Stop there.”
“Do you have any fetishes?”
“I’ve got three ex wives. I can’t afford to have any fetishes.”
“Ok. Fair enough.” Abby smiled.
“Where are you going with this, Abs?”
“The dead guy.”
“What about him?”
“Ducky said his nails were painted black. That usually says fetish on its own.”
“But?”
“There’s something else. And it’s hinky.”
“Abs….”
“Ok, ok. Ducky found a weird substance between the guys toes.”
“And?”
“It’s latex.”
“Pardon?”
“Latex. Gets covered head to toe. Supposed to heighten sexual experience.”
Gibbs turned and headed out of the lab.
*******************************
“Tony, gas the truck.”
“Boss, you know, most agencies have people that do that sort of thing.”
“So do we,” replied Gibbs.
“How ‘bout a plane boss? A plane would be awesome.”
“No plane, DiNozzo.”
“FBI, CIA, DEA, ATF, even NYPD have private jets.”
“It’s thirty-six cents a mile. You wanna drive?”
“It’s humiliating.”
“DiNozzo, we’re not borrowing a plane to go downtown.”
“I’m talking long run boss.”
“Gas the truck, Tony. Now!”
“On it!”
**************************************
The single shot came out of nowhere and suddenly the scene was in slow motion---DiNozzo falling, hitting his head hard on the curb….Gibbs spinning on his heel, drawing his pistol as he turned….firing…..
“Tony!” Kate screamed. She saw him fall and hit his head. She ran over to him and tried to wake him. “Tony? Please open your eyes. Come on. Look at me.”
Tony’s eyes fluttered.
“Call an ambulance!” Kate shouted. “Come on Tony. Look at me.”
His eyes fluttered again. Finally, he opened them and looked at her.
“Hey partner. You gave me a scare.”
“Kate….ouch…”
She giggled as she fought back tears. She could hear a faint siren heading in their direction. “Hey. I can hear the siren. They’ll be here any second and make you better.”
“Tell….Char…I….love….her…”
“You can tell her yourself, Tony. You’re going to be fine.”
“Kate, promise me you’ll tell her.”
“I’ll tell her.” Kate looked up to see the EMTS arriving. “Take care of him.” As she stood up, she realized her lap was covered in blood where his head had been. “Hey!” The EMTS looked at her. “He may have been shot.” They nodded as they loaded him in the ambulance.

Part 2 of the Part 2 continuation. (does that make any sense?!)
------------------------------------------------------------------------- They were waiting in the hospital waiting room. Gibbs hated this part. Now he had to call Charisma.
“Hello?” he heard Charisma sleepily answer.
“Char. It’s dad.”
“Hey, what’s up? Tony’s not home yet.”
Gibbs swallowed hard. “I know. I needed to talk to you about him.”
Her breath caught. “What happened?”
“We were at a sit. A shot came out of nowhere. Tony hit his head on the curb. We’re at Bethesda.”
“I’ll be 30 minutes, tops.”
Gibbs hung up the phone and sighed. He hated delivering bad news to anyone. It was even worse if it was someone he knew.
“Was that Charisma?” asked Kate.
“Yes. She’s on her way.”
“Good.”
They waited in silence to hear anything at all from the doctor.
Charisma arrived 20 minutes after she talked to Gibbs.
“Char,” said Abby as she stood to greet her.
“How is he?”
“No word yet.” Gibbs replied. Charisma turned to him as he wrapped her in a hug.
“I can’t lose him, dad. I just can’t.”
“You’re not going to. I promise.” He held her as she started to cry. “Shh. He’ll be okay.”
************************************
Finally, the doctor arrived.
“Any news?” asked Gibbs.
“Tony will be fine. The bullet entered his back, but missed hitting any organs or his spine. He was very lucky. And all he got from hitting his head was a concussion.”
Charisma sighed with relief. Abby grabbed her hand.
“We’re moving him to recovery now. One of you can see him now. The rest will have to wait until tomorrow.”
Gibbs looked at Charisma and nodded. She stood and followed the doctor to Tony’s room.
Her heart skipped a beat as she entered the room. She hated seeing him lying there, hooked to those machines.
“He may not talk to you at first but he can hear you.” she heard the doctor say. I’ll leave you alone.”
She nodded and headed over to his bedside. She pulled up a chair and sat down. She took his hand in hers.
“You scared me. You promised me you wouldn’t do this to me again.” She took a breath. “I love you so much. It hurts me to see you like this. I hate hospitals and I hate that you’re here.” She lowered her head and started to cry.
She felt Tony squeeze her hand. She looked up at him with tears in her eyes. She smiled at him when she saw his eyes were open. “Hey you.”
“You’ve been crying.”
“You scared me.”
“I’m sorry.” With the other hand, he wiped the tears from her cheek.
“I’m just glad that you’re ok.”
“I’m fine. Just tired.”
“That’s understandable.”
“No more tears, ok. I’m fine.”
Charisma nodded. “I see that.”
Tony closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep. Charisma stayed in the chair, holding his hand as she fell asleep.
***************************
“Hey boss.” Tony said. Gibbs was glad to see him sitting up and awake.
“Hey. You look terrible.”
“Thanks.”
“Do you remember anything from yesterday?”
“Everything. I remember it hurt like hell when the bullet hit. And I remember hitting the curb.”
“What about before that?”
“Kate. She saw something and called me over to her. Then I remember the shot.”
“Do you know what it was Kate saw?”
“No. I never had a chance to look at it. I had only started towards her when I felt the shot. What was it?”
“Don’t know. When we went back to the scene, whatever it was, was gone.”
“So it was something that somebody didn’t want us to find.”
“Yeah. We think whoever shot you was behind the fetish guy’s murder.”
“He came back to the scene?”
“That, or he hadn’t left. We don’t know for sure.”
“How is Kate?”
“Shook up. She’s almost lost her partner twice in just a couple of weeks. But she’ll be okay.”
“Tell her I’m sorry.”
“You can tell her yourself. She’ll be here later.”
“Ok.”
“You need sleep. You look tired.”
Tony nodded as he drifted off to sleep.
