I really liked this episode. As others have said, some of the team interactions seemed a bit off but I LOVED the return to the case-driven episode. I REALLY hope we get to see more of that as the season progresses.

Hello Princesses! Just thought I'd pop in to say hi. I've been very pleased that they are finally letting Tim grow and be seen as the competent agent he undoubtedly would have become long before now. It was LOOOOONG overdue! I was disappointed in last night's episode for a lot of reasons, not the least of which was Tim being given some random stupid computer problem that had nothing to do with anything just to keep him occupied and out of the way for most of the episode.
I am REALLY hoping that doesn't happen throughout the rest of the season. I like the mutual respect between Tim and Tony and also that Tim hasn't been the stuttering newbie around Gibbs this season. THAT'S what I want to see!

9.5. Hmmm. I didn't see it as "tearing Tony down" at all. Throughout this series we've seen that Tony is really insecure and covers it by being the clown and picking on his teammates. I actually thought last night was wonderful in that - although he originally made a mistake - Gibbs allowed him to take the lead and fix it. Tony idolizes Gibbs so much that when Gibbs is around he doesn't trust his own judgment. He wants Gibbs input. I loved Gibbs pep talk by the stairs when Tony was starting to freak. He let Tony know he approved of all the steps he had taken and that Tony was doing a good job. That's exactly what Tony needed to hear - and he stepped back up to the plate and finished the job. Just like Gibbs would've done, imo. Loved Ziva and McGee's bugging Tony - yes, he would've done the same thing to them. I was also glad to see they knew when to stop and pitch in. I thought it was a great episode. Missed the Director, though. I can imagine his face knowing Gibbs allowed Tony to be lead on this case. ;-) I didn't rate the episode quite as high as you, but I agree with everything you said. This is the Tony I wish we saw more of--the consummate professional who does what it takes to get the job done. Yes, the jokester is a big part of who he is and the show wouldn't be the same without that side of him, I just wish we'd see more of him putting that aside. But that's just me. And I completely agree that Tony would be giving Tim or Ziva the same treatment they gave him were one of them in charge--and that Tony also would have known when to stop and pitch in, as they did. And I just LOVED the whole Tony/Jimmy meeting. Gibbs has Ducky, and while Tony was in charge, he obviously had Jimmy. It was a nice show of confidence on both sides.

Hello Crickets! I was SO hoping for Jimmy to show up in "Love & War," but alas no luck. I am going to get my lazy self moving on a Jimmy Clone this weekend. I've been slacking far too long on that. Here's hoping for some more awesome Jimmy moments this season!

9.5 from me. Ironically, my cars been in the garage for 4 days now when it should have taken 2 days. They keep finding something wrong with it So maybe ill do what McGee did and stand my ground Although I don't investigate murders lol They don't know that... Good episode and it's nice to see just how much McGee has grown from the first season. Absolutely! I still like the teasing and don't expect (or want) that to go away, but it's great to see he's earned the respect of the rest of the team when it counts.

He was SO awesome! I'm right there with you-- it was great seeing him running the investigation inside with backup from the rest of the team on the outside.
One thing I thought about this morning as I was reading the message boards-- Gibbs really showed a lot of confidence in McGee. Not just when he chose him to go to the prison to try to get the confession, but mostly when he allowed McGee to go back inside the prison and work the case. McGee was out, he was safe, and Gibbs could have ordered him to leave with the rest of the team and let the prison handle their own mess. NCIS was done with the case at that point. But Gibbs showed a LOT of trust and confidence in McGee's ability to work the case and take care of himself on his own by letting him go back inside.
It was a very different episode than I expected, but I'm VERY happy with how it was presented. McGee's character was MUCH better served in this episode than he would have been if he was shown as being stuck inside the prison in mortal peril and unable to do much about it for the whole episode. Yes, he was in danger--most of the prisoners were there for some form of assault/attempted murder/murder--but he wasn't sitting around waiting to be rescued. I could go on all day so I'll just shut up now.

Anyone else think poor McGee needed a BIG hug after being tasered last night?? (Tagging as minor spoiler for anyone who hasn't seen Silent Night yet.)
