Didn't I see that in a Harrison Ford movie, too?

Okay, reach into the crayon box and get out the one labeled "Clueless" and color me in with that one. What's the .flv file extension? Dork(running off to see what Google can tell me, now that the download's done)la

does anyone know a website that teaches you sign language Google is still your friend. Have you tried today? And which sign language would you like to learn? Each country has its own. So keep that in mind while you're out there Googling. BTW, I have Google set as my homepage on Firefox, and last night wasted a bunch of time setting up iGoogle. One of the options for the iGoogle homepage is an ASL thing. So far this morning, all it was doing was going through the American one-handed alphabet. Dunno if it'll actually show signs at some point. Oh, and Nath: have you tried the caps request thread?

Gibbs has used the ILY I Love You sign to Abby, but never (that I've ever seen) that other thing. It's American Sign Language and contains the handshapes for I, L, and Y, hence "ILY."

Is that contest still going on on that British channel? The sedan model is Stratus. You can read it on the back of the car in "Conspiracy Theory," when Gibbs and McGee go to see the captain who's being investigated.

Regarding the discussion about does Gibbs still have memory loss in that scene with Shepherd, I just remembered something. There was an article released last year that said Gibbs' injuries would continue into the new season. I'm thinking it's a safe assumption that yes, in fact he does still have amnesia. I'm guessing that what happened with the picture is Gibbs found it in his stuff like someone said and brought it to ask her about. He remembers that he and Shepherd had some type of previous relationship (remember his flashback on Hiatus 2?) but doesn't remember much about it. When she made the comment he felt too uncomfortable to ask, so he just gave her the photo. He probably also doesn't remember that she's the one who dumped him with that Dear John letter and just thought since she apparently had some good memories from that time he'd give her the photo as a keepsake. Cindy and I talked a lot about that over the weekend and we're both pretty certain, at least in our own minds, that he honestly didn't remember Serbia when Jen mentioned it. In my own mind, I'm thinking maybe he still doesn't remember it, but came upon the photo while at the house and gave it to McGee to pass along to Jen. And that tells her (and us, of course) that he recognizes that yes, they were in Serbia, but says nothing to her (or us, of course) about whether he actually remembers anything about their time in Serbia nor why they were stuck in that cabin for a week. I personally wouldn't use the term "amnesia" to describe where Gibbs is now, but rather would use "memory loss" or "continuing memory loss," but that may be my own quirks. Darla

it's not illegal if A) Paramount Studios, Viacom Corporation, or SB doesn't care....of course all the people who associate with them have to not care either...lol B) you give credit to the place where the original came from Would you really want to test them on whether they care? Have a chat with the guy who once had a licensing agreement with Paramount to produce the Star Trek rubber stamps about what dealing with the legal staff is like. Giving credit where credit is due is itself not really sufficient. Using something without permission is illegal with very few and very carefully outlined exceptions. Check the copyright regulations on the Library of Congress website. "Fair Use" is a cloudy topic, but it isn't *that* cloudy. And I enjoyed "Shalom"!! I really think that Gibbs was telling the truth when he told Jen that he didn't remember Serbia. But I'm not sure giving her the photograph is proof that he did finally remember, or if it's just something he found while at the house before going back to Mexico to finish the work on the roof and get started on the hot tub. Different people, different perceptions: I thought Ziva looked cynical about the "soul mate" thing. Gibbs pushed Tony out of the nest, but Tony keeps fluttering around. As Gibbs said: Tony's ready for his own team; that's what Gibbs trained him for, and the reason Gibbs felt secure in leaving/quitting/retiring. But Tony's insecure about that, unsure of himself; why else rate himself so poorly? But to Tony's credit, Tony's also aware that Gibbs still isn't 100 percent and needs someone looking out for him even while Gibbs continues pushing Tony toward independence. There's also the security and safety in being the Boss' righthand-man: the responsibility for what the team does rests squarely on Gibbs' shoulders. Darla

Unfortunately, Amazon won't ship it to Canada. I wonder why? It is not AMAZON you are dealing with it is one of their shops. It's an independent seller who is attached to AMAZON.[/quote] Have you considered working out a deal with someone who's in the same country as the shipper, and have that person receive the item and send it along to you? We do all kinds of stuff like that in the cross stitch community. Darla

Product placement really works, me for Gibbs T-shirt and Darla for the phone. Much less annoying than advert breaks during the show. I wonder how many placements need to be allowed in each show, to negate the need for breaks? That was Jen asking about the phone, Marion. I have this little device that makes and receives calls, which is all I need or expect of a phone. Jen's the toy geek! Bless her li'l heart! ;D Darla, who really would like to upgrade to one she can program with other ringtones, but not until it's the free-with-renewed-contract phone

my one concern is how everyone was all: the old gibbs is back since he shaved off the mustache. like his memory problems are all gone. surely they aren't going to end that plotline in this fashion?! No, not a chance, I think. Remember: he hasn't gone back to the Marine rice-bowl cut. No way is he back to normal, whatever "normal" is for Gibbs. They're too careful: there are even references to prior eps in scripts, so I don't think there are very many throwaway situations/lines in these eps. There's just too much left unresolved so far, and keep in mind that DPB himself said that repercussions from last season will resonate in this one. Also keep in mind that the last "Gibbs slap" by Gibbs was at the elevator in "Shalom," and it hasn't been seen since. That alone should tell someone that things aren't back to "normal." No, there's a lot of story to be told over the next 19 eps. Darla

, when do the breaks begin? I think Harriet said recently that "Once a Hero" is on the CBS schedule for 11/7, so not before then. Unfortunately, that's also election night. Ick. Ack. Ptui. Darla
