I gave this episode a zero, because it was boring and lacking in any suspense. I think that NCIS was better off when Director Morrow was there because Gibbs respected him and he seemed like a more realistic director and it's not the actor's fault the role that the role of the director has been flat and poorly written because that was in my opinion the case long before Director Vance was there. I think that the director could be an interesting and compelling role, but, the writers and TPTB don't do much with the role. This episode wasn't as bad as "Angel Of Death" for me, but, it was an episode that I won't watch again.

I have to disagree about new viewers after Angel of Death. I personally know 3 people and their significant others who started watching NCIS with Angel of Death due to me talking about it incessantly. They came back for Season 5 and are totally hooked. Plus, there were more viewers in Season 5 than there were in previous seasons. Each season has brought in more and more viewers. You did a great selling job, "Angel Of Death" was the weakest season finale that I've seen, because to me nothing happened. I think that Season 4 was a Season where the only episode that I'd watch again was "Cover Story."

I thought that "Judgement Day" was a great episode and a great season finale. I think that writers had problems deciding whether to let Jenny be the Director or Gibbs's former love interest and so I didn't like that dynamic. I think that the new director could be a good foil for Gibbs and I think that it will be interesting to see when the Director's actions will come back to haunt him, because, he not only shredded up a document, but, he also covered up the truth behind Jenny's death. As far as breaking up the team, I think that at the very least that it's a great way to get longtime fans interested and guessing about next season and to get new or casual fans interested in "NCIS" which is something "Angel Of Death" completely failed at last season.

I liked the premise of an NCIS agent going to Iraq, but, this episode was rushed and had too much Nikki in it and not enough of the series regulars to me. I don't like the idea of Nikki being a series regular next season. I think that the show named NCIS will be back next week given the previews that I saw. I liked and miss Paula. Fast National ratings for Tuesday, April 29, 2008 CBS was a solid second with "NCIS," 9.3/15. Here's the link, www.zap2it.com/tv/ratings/zap-ratings042908,0,2712206.story

This was my favorite episode of NCIS this season and I thought that this was one of the few times in the last two years where I would rewatch an episode and one of the few times that I thought that the flashbacks were used well. I would like to know how McGee is doing with his new dog. I didn't like Jenny in this episode, because as it was already mentioned here it reinforced how unprofessional she is. I also hope that this is the last that we see of Jeanne. Fast National ratings for Tuesday, April 22, 2008 "NCIS" put CBS in second with a 9.1/14. i dont think the teams changed that much to be honest. tony still has someone to argue with e.g. (tony and kate become tony and ziva) and gibbs still leads the team. I can't say that Tony and Kate have become Tony and Ziva because, I think that Ziva has been given more to do on the team and in the cases than I felt that Kate did when she was there. I also think that Tony realized early on that it would be in his best interest to respect Ziva and that I think goes for McGee as well. I didn't feel that Tony and McGee had that same respect for Kate. I think that the team as it is now is much closer now and I think that Kate and Tony's very different personalities as an example did not bring out the best in each other or the team in general. I think that now when Tony and Ziva banter with each other that it's more natural and not distracting to the case as I felt the banter was with Tony and Kate. I think that the team and the show have matured in a way that I couldn't see happening during the first two seasons.

I would have to say Kate as well, because as it was mentioned we only really saw her at work and we never learned much about hobbies and activities that she enjoyed outside of work. I think that now the hardest character who's there now to write would be Jenny for me, because, I think that it's hard to write her without it coming across as forced or awkward or both at least for me.

Wouldn't it be pretty unlikely that Michelle would stick around after Gibbbs returns to the team for good? I think that unfourtnately the writers have focused on Michelle's weaknesses and mistakes rather what she could positively contribute to the show and I think that unfourtnately that same mistake was made with Kate. I think that it's really unlikely that the team would be split into two because of how the show is written and I also think that it's unlikely that Michelle would stay after Gibbs returns after she insulted him behind his back and to his face and I don't get the impression that the team likes or respects Michelle either.

I think that I would like Jenny a lot better if she were from the beginning written consistently and not given such cliched and overdone story lines such as the one with her father, I think that it's hard for me to believe that someone in her position would have "Daddy issues" and I don't really feel or see her motivation as far as hunting down "The Frog" as I did when Paula's team was killed or when Gibbs was hunting down Ari.

That would be really good, though to be honest my real fear is that the next 7 remaining episodes of this season will be concentrating on Jen. It would be a grindy teethy moment for me if that did happen because she's already had nigh-on a whole season about her and her vendetta, (or at least it seriously felt that way) plus the the flashbacks concerning her and Gibbs. ...I have to say that I wouldn't be a happy bunny if they did concentrate entirely on her for these remaining episodes. I think she's had enough focus now. I'd be happy if say two episodes were spent on this investigation, but as a background storyline and not as a central focus. I'd like to see them keep to the main concept of the program and have the team investigating Navy deaths and what not. *fingers crossed* Having seen some good entertaining programs go down the toilet of late, I'm probably just anxious that NCIS might do the same... Sorry... I always thought that Jenny's actions last season were somehow going to come back to haunt her, but, I honestly don't think we have to worry that much about Jenny being the person who gets concentrated on a lot because, I think that there is something to be said that whenever Jenny has generally speaking tried to exert any kind of power that the team or whatever agency head that the team works with doesn't agree with or see eye to eye with her that generally speaking Jenny is somehow put down and the team handles things how they wish with no consequences. I think that while Jenny is regular character that she just isn't a main priority or a favorite of the writers so to speak.

the fact that were going to meet the assistant director further reinforces my belief that Jen is the one leaving. Never in the shows history have we seen or even heard of the existance of an Assistant Director, which come to think of it is daft because all federal agencies have one (or more). When Jen went to France in S4 the Assistant or Deputy Director would have been left in charge not a field agent (Gibbs). So the fact that there now bringing one in makes me think there introducing her eventual successor. You made a good point that I think gets overlooked. While it was funny to see Gibbs try to be the acting director that I think that during Jenny's trip to France would've been a time that we normally should've seen the Assistant Director, but, we didn't and I don't think that the assistant director would be introduced now out of the blue for no apparent reason.

I enjoyed this episode a lot because it focused on the real, regular characters and as always I enjoyed the team's interaction with each other and I liked the fact that they all know of Tony's feelings for Jeanne.

I enjoyed this episode in part because of the interaction between Ziva and Tony and I also thought that writers did a good job of keeping McGee in character from what saw of how he deals with difficult or sad situations. I also liked how Gibbs stood by McGee's side thoughout the episode and didn't question his judgement about firing his gun. As others have mentioned previously, I wish that the writers would stop mentioning the fact that Jenny and Gibbs were once romantically involved with each other, which has gotten old quickly and I just don't feel that Gibbs trusts Jenny's judgement at this point, despite the fact that she's the director but, I think that it's not without reason.
